Installing on a Mac is possible, but I would never do it personally. It’d actually be easier to just install it on RHEL or CentOS or Fedora.

I’ve written very intensely detailed installation on Fedora 21 workstation, you’ll find it in the WiKi.

The VM’s do need updated. I think everyone’s holding off on that till 1.3.0 is released. That release is sort of going to be a mile-stone for FOG.

I assure you we do have xhci built into the kernels, but if this works then it works and I say go forth and happy fogging.
I made 2 things:

disable wifi in the bios creation a new host adding the macaddress in fog
Great! My guess is that the wifi adapter is being recognized when the FOG client boots up and it wants to request an IP via DHCP too…

I compiled three binaries with debugging enabled for you, find them atteched! I’d be very interested to see the debugging output… please take a picture of even video.

Please try out snp.efi or snponly.efi instead of ipxe.efi as well! Do they all fail at the same point (I doubt it!)…

Oh yes, the SCSI block device driver… forgot about that! Thanks for reporting back! Great to hear that you got it working now… 🙂

Hi All,

Just to let everyone know.

We had to change our switch port to Port-Fast to get this working correctly.

Thanks all for your help and insight.

Then update your kernel as it’s most likely not contained in the kernel version you’re currently using.

If you look at the 3.14.2 kernel, there’s two versions, a 64 bit and 32 bit. For 0.32 you need the 32 bit version. This will replace your current /tftpboot/fog/kernel/bzImage file and things hopefully will work better.

Update for Tom Elliott.

It looks that you are right.
I replaced the harddrive and you are right. It works now.
Thanks for the advice.

FYI
HP Compaq 6715s and HP Compaq 6715b is on the list as working for .032 but not confirmed for 1.x.x. HP Compaq 6735b is however tested and working with 1.x.x.x. Also confirm that you have the most up-to-date BIOS on these devices.

After having another go at this with the latest svn build, I finally solved the problem. Or at least I hope I did.

I had the same problem as before with the latest svn release. I changed between different .kpxe and .kkpxe files countless times until I tried something I hadn’t done before. I always used symlink’s to switch between .kpxe and .kkpxe files, but instead of doing that I decided to change Option 67 in the DHCP settings for a change. And it worked!

I’ll try a different client later to see if it really is the fix I’ve been looking for.

Edit: Doesn’t seem to solve the Problem. But I found a workaround. Booting any OS (Live CD is enough) and rebooting solves the problem. I guess it has something to do with the NIC not being shut-down correctly by the manufacturer.

It took a while to get everything straight.
The server is up and running with the 1312 revision of undionly.kpxe
Each dell has to enable Wake on LAN /w PXE and disable deep sleep mode.
With this settings the setup works for me with the standard configuration.

My project is tested and approved today, so thanks again for the help.
