    @zingaro,

The menu options you’re attempting to create do not go in the default file.

They go under the advanced options under the pxe settings under FOG Configuration->PXE Settings->Advanced Options from the fog GUI.

I have a few questions about your network.

1.)What network switches do you have?
    2.)Is STP enabled?
3.)Are the host and server on different VLANS?

single disk resizable works this way: check the drive, resize partitions to the minimum size to hold their data, upload image. on download, up all of the data back, and resize the partitions to the capacity of the volume

the others use the method: record what is there, and put it back eactly the way it is on download, partition sizes and all.

Oh I know. I followed that wiki to the T for both Ubuntu 14.04 and Debian 7.7, and I was still having issues. So it really didn’t help me directly, although it was a good reference point for confirming the dhcp options as well as the commands to disable the firewall in Debian.

The underlying problem was that there were individual DHCP options set for a couple of our VLANs, but not all of the Vlans. So they were over riding the global options that I was working with.

I don’t expect the wiki to delve into Windows based DHCP management, but might be worth a line around the DHCP section, that explains…
“It is possible to have these options configured on your DHCP server per subnet/vlan. So make sure there is no conflicting information in the specific subnet you are working in.”

Until it was mentioned in the post regarding DHCP settings per subnet, I didn’t have a clue that was even possible. Now that I know, I have actually configured the old .32 server on a specific maint vlan and the new machine on the production vlan, so our technicians can still access the older images in an emergency.

Thanks again for the feedback though. I appreciate it.

I gotta pipe in here that we’ve standardized on “ubuntu-14.04.1-server-amd64” and SVN 2332 and have managed to slay all dragons thus far.

I just ran into this problem also. The download took 8 hours to complete downloading at roughly 184MB/m. When I took the Host drive out and popped it into a Sata reader, Hard Disk Sentenal showed 282 bad sectors. Threw the drive out and put in a new drive. Image pulled down at 2.64GB/m again.

My issue was a bad drive but don’t let that account for possible other issues.

I have tried to use the code from github and found here a small issue in boths files from bin folder. Looked liked that there was an merge conflict and it wasn’t corrected fully.

    Please fix and ty,

Redeploy finished and the box rebooted to the PXE menu. Booted to HDD and get the same black screen. Output of d1.original.partitions is the same.

  • Quick Image just kicks back to the main FOG menu. Any ideas?

    Hello,

off course, a clean removal of the table, using mysql syntax did the job. (I did it in phpmysql) I think I might have screwed up the database by doing an import of hosts from a csv file. Thanks Tom for your quick reply!

I might also think about your suggestion to return to an earlier version of ubuntu server and restarting completely. Maybe that will solve my ipxe boot issues as well. I do need that startup screen as with my older fog server I was able to do multicast installations and include specific drivers per model. Lucky for me I wrote it all down 🙂
    Great stuff this FOG server!

    Thanks for the replies 🙂

Well haven’t had time to update it yet.
We only have Windows 7 Images here. So no worries with XP/Vista.
But the images bug is not so good.
All my images (mostly) where made in 0.32
I re upload new revisions all the time, but if this creates problem, I might wait a bit and see.
I do have 1.2.0 on some of my other servers, everything seems to be working there.

But back to the original question. If I can’t get it to read database faster, how do I revert to the old search function in user login hist?

    Cheers
