Are you running FOGPrep before uploading your images?
Yes! I am doing the exact same process that I do for all of my X86 images. I decided to try another computer to make sure that it was just not that certain model. I took my ultrabook that is 64 bit and tried to creat an image and I get the same thing so I know it is not those machines or that install of windows 7.

Thank you very much, Tom, and thanks for everybody who spent time on this discussion thread. It has been of immense assistance to us. My production fog is running 64 bit Ubuntu Server, but I’ll try your kernel on my test fog in Virtual Box. We will virtualize the fog server within 6 months time, so a testing of a redo of the fog configuration is ahead of us, just after Christmas. Anyway, I fixed the problem by using another computer, without a DVI graphic, to upload the image the image of the computer with the DVI interface.
Thank you for replying, but it’s not very clear in that post on how to use partclone, install it on FOG server or included it in bzImage file? Sorry, I’m not a programmer, really can’t understand the attached files in that post, would you mind to explain it in more detail for me?

    Thanks!
I would be happy to help, but I have never loaded partclone. If you look, Gilou was the one that set up the partclone to use because he has problems with partimage… I on the other hand have no complaints and partclone works great in my environment, get in touch with Gilou, or let Tom figure it out. I prefer to learn to do things myself, and when I get to that bridge and cross it, I will make sure to document the process thoroughly, I was more or less providing a lead for your journey.

    That was a quick response.

    I followed this post:

    http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Adding_Storage_to_a_FOG_Server

    And that did the trick.

It’s very likely that your reply would have pulled the trick as well since the commands you posted are exactly the same as what was posted on the link.

    Thanks again!

That’s a possibility, but I think the best option for you is to chmod the /images folder.

Normal ownership of the entire folder is:

    rwxrwxrwx

If you run as root user
chmod -R 777 /images
it should work.

There is one other thing to be aware of is that the way the files move from /images/dev to /images is through ftp.

Make sure your GUI has the appropriate username and password under both of these options:

Storage Management->All Storage Nodes->{YOUR STORAGE NODE (usually DefaultMember)->Management Username and Management Password
    AND:
    Other Information->FOG Settings-> FOG_TFTP_FTP_USERNAME and FOG_TFTP_FTP_PASSWORD

The username should be set as fog

The password should be set on the fog server as root user with:
passwd fog
Then whatever password you set is inserted into the password fields.

I seem to be suffering from the same problem, although my deployment of FOG is entirely new so I am unable to do much more than register hosts and initiate memtests from the PXE menu.
Here’s a side tip for those Latitude 10’s… the dock can only support two USB devices at a time. This machine SUCKS.
I’ve also seen that in my case anyway, the only USB port that sees a USB device (pre-windows) is the front dock USB. So, how do you put the keyboard in the front USB to boot to the BIOS, and choose the flash drive (which also has to be in the front port)??? Well, to free up a USB port, pressing the Volume UP button on the side of the tablet, and I mean pressing it rapidly non-stop, is the same as hitting F12 on your keyboard. That’ll get you to BIOS and you can then see your flash drive which is in the front port. All this, providing that its a working bootable flash drive. As I’ve said, my OS boots up fine through the flash, but not Clonezilla. Hope this helps.
It was rather difficult to get someone that was technical at dell to give me an answer on this but yes pxe booting is not supported on those Latitude 10’s. In fact those Latitude 10’s are discontinued now, and have been replaced with the venue 8 & 11 pro which is suppose to support pxe booting.

When I install the Virtio Drivers, it doesn’t have anything for Virtio network, it’s just a balloon driver. So it makes sense that it would not work. I’ll see what I can find though.

    Hi Tom,

I put END TEXT as you suggested and and all seems good now, I even put it back to END TEXT and was able to recreate to problem.

I really appreciate your help and prompt responses, now I’m able to carry on with my learning on linux/Ubuntu and FOG.

i guess that’s what my professor meant when he said "pay close attention to details when working, especially with text based config files/programs.

    Thanks;

    Does the task actually perform?

What version of FOG are you using?

Can you give us, right after you’ve created an upload/deploy/advanced task, a snippet of your error.log file located in /var/log/apache2/error.log?
I’m having the same problem trying to install FOG 0.32 on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS server i386 (in a VM for now). Output is in the attached text file (initial stuff was clipped due to the size of my SSH session buffer). Suggestions?
The UDPCast file within the fog installation is outdated.

Follow the solution in this forum:

    http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/setting-up-and-building-udpcast-failed.4548/

It’s basically downloading a newer version, patching it, and then redirecting the fog installation to look to that version instead of the one that fog provides. Once you do that, run the install again, and it should complete without a problem.
