Thanks Chad i actually fixed that issue, i re found the post that i used to fix that issue almost two years ago. It was two lines of code in the config.php file. But i another issue when i try to push the image down to a client pc. i get access denied. I ve try the chmod 777 on the folder where the images are at, and tried another i dont remember the cmd off hand. i think it was “chown -R fog:root” or some thing like that. i tested the ./mntcheck cmd on the folder and i cant touch it, but when im a root user i can. Also i ve check the user account and password in the UI settings to make sure they match, im all out of ideas. see below of the error i get. thanks in advance for your help.

Another quick question -

I have found the following in the management console - FOG_PROXY_IP and FOG_PROXY_PORT. Are these settings just for the server or will they filter down to the client aswell?

Solved…Multiple partition imaging works when using the original init.gz file, however, if replaced with the noreg.gz file, which I was using (not realizing)…it does not work. Also, make sure that the original pxelinus.cfg has not be corrupted, as this caused the noreg file to still load even after rolling-back changes.

On to multicasting.

Hello
I’m using fog recently, I have several different machines and works on all Boards as put an image by fog.
But I have computers with Asus P5QL-E boards that do not work.
How do I schedule the task with otros computers, it starts to detect the fog, but when he begins to put the picture of the fog reaches 1% and goes down.
Do not know if it’s some setting in the Board, already tried everything and I’m not understand where this problem.

I went into VPN Connections and deleted the existing wired network.
I then entered an IP address that matched the network version
192.168.127.181, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.127.1
I did not set up a DNS entry.

The computer after a reboot found 192.168.127.177 as an IP address after reviewing the connection settings. I could not access the Fog system at all.

Mine is displaying an hour behind the real time. I have a feeling that its just set by default to GMT. I’m in the UK but we’re still on BST (British Summer Time) at the moment. Still… it’ll be right for me 6 months of the year I suppose 😉

Seriously though, did either of you two find a fix for it?

append tftp:/xxx.xxx.x.x/ltsp/i386/boot/grub/kernel.img
That doesn’t work.
Could someone explain what the parts of that line are:
[]append tftp:
[]initrd=tftp:
Are these on the FOG server or on the LTSP server? The line came from the site in the first post.

Matt, generally when the upload fails partway through it’s because of a hardware issue with the client. Have you tried running chkdsk?

I deleted the fog config file, reinstalled fog and set the fog-server as dhcp-server this time. And now everything is fine. Thanks.

The 32bit or 64bit doesn’t really matter to FOG. Are you trying to deploy the 64bit image to the exact same machine, or just another machine of the same model as the 32 bit install? Did you take the 64 bit image in exactly the same way as the 32 bit (defrag, chkdisk, sysprep, image type, etc)?

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem. I have just reinstalled my fog on Ubuntu 10.04 and im having nothing but grief. Fails at 0% on a GX620 and on a 380 it fails at 4%.

I have checked all mysql settings and they are correct. I have checked my storage node settings and they are correct.

I thought moving it to Ubuntu 10.04 would work.

check out this video of mine

I am not sure why it was discontinued but the developers are shooting to bring it back in the next release. You can run a report in SCCM to get hostnames and MACS or the free SoftPerfect Network Scanner can also generate .csv’s for you if your shop does not use SCCM.
