Oups. Sorry I lost a lot of time to debug before seeing that the image was not well set. I set “multi partitions multi disks” instead of “multi partitions single disk”.

    Sorry to disturb you.
Ok so I asked to change the bootfile to undionly.kpxe and it and passes that step and it goes to “iPXE initializing devices” and the Pc just reboots without showing any menu. Now what am I doing wrong???
I solved my PXE-T01 issues by using DNSMASQ

Thank you for the info Junkhacker. I was able to recover the storage. Somewhere along the lines the configuration got lost. I reconfigured the system manually and I was able to recovered the storage.

Thank you Tom, you’re really fast !

I understand… Google “translation” doesn’t translate effectively well the English in French.
But most of the open-source softwares are in English so don’t be in a hury, we can bear with it !

I thank you for your answer and for your work. Competitors will be misty by FOG.

is this with all 780’s or 1 or a select few?
i’ve had a few issues with 780’s and 380’s where they performed slower then they should while booted into windows, and the I/O chip on the motherboard (the one that doesn’t have a heatsink) gets so hot you can’t keep a finger on it. just the other day i had one of these that i was having trouble getting to work with fog, and after being really persistent with it, it eventually failed to boot at all any more. as in, will not go past the dell splash screen, freezes 😞

So, I found a very odd but simple solution. Apparently hitting the Enter key on the keyboard advanced it to the next screen, and started uploading. Odd, but it worked.

I have the same issue. I am using an Lenovo Yoga S1 (Yoga 2) with the Lenovo USB to Ethernet Dongle which is using a realtek driver (I think).

This is the furthest I have been able to get. Any help to get over the edge would be great.

    Thanks

    Found a solution!

Long story short I took the laptop and installed Ubuntu. Then I installed Win 7 Enterprise, created a Fog image with this PC, and then used this to image the pc. Went to bitlocker it and it worked.

So what does this mean? Apparently I was not able to take a Win 7 Pro laptop, out of the box, install Win 7 Enterprise, and bitlocker it. Windows, for whatever reason, does not like an OS to OS change. I must not be getting a clean install of Win 7 Enterprise. And I did remember to format the partition(s).

Anyway, it took an unconventional approach to fix this problem.
Have you tried to change fog menu exiting style?

Go to Web GUI —> FOG Configuration ----> iPXE Boot Menu —> Exit to Hard Drive Type
I set the Exit to Hard Drive Type value to GRUB style and this seems to have resolved the problem.

Interestingly, I checked our physical server settings and it had the same setting that was causing problems with the Virtual Server.

Either way, its working great now, thanks for the help.

For now I will do some housekeeping. Some of the images can be deleted and some of them can be stored offline.
put it this way, we have 2500 Devices, 23 different models (yes 23!! don’t ask, serious just don’t ask!) 18 sites “large” sites across the stretch of the country (UK) and we can rebuild a machine (with all the software, bells, whistles you name it + more) in under 15 minutes, regardless of what site and it only takes a minute of an engineers time to do (less if device is registered)
just kick it off and check webgui in 15 mins or so.
23 doesn’t sound bad at all to me. we have 33 models in the 800 or so machines currently in fog

    Hi Tom,

As it turns out, the problem was a self inflicted wound. Our Apple guy also has ain image server running. He turned it on the other day. I noticed in the logs that the system would ask for an address first from the FOG server and then from the Apple image server immediately after that. It would then invariably die while trying to connect to the Apple server. I unplugged then network card on the apple box and stuff started working again.

    Thanks for the help!

    (summary of resolution)

Edit the /etc/vsftpd.conf and append: seccomp_sandbox=NO and restart the service (sudo service vsftpd restart) Adding password to storage node in the gui Rebooting Fixing schema table with “sudo dpkg-reconfigure mysql-server-5.5” Retry upload tasks

----it now uploads and makes the appropriate folder in IMAGES as intended and not the “dev” folder; aka, it’s working again!!!----

    THANKS!!!
