This is excellent because you can customize and change the look of fog without actually changing the base code of FOG and “shouldn’t” break when updating FOG or at least be easy to re-implement your changes rather than hard coding them back in.

Yeah, this is where the host CSV import comes in handy to migrate hosts. you could even export the inventory SQL table and import that into 0.33 aswell

Or if you know the macs of the systems just add a simple if statement and perform the task right from ipxe.

As I stated, I have gotten this working finally.

I figured it out and it took a lot of work. Hopefully it’s something that’s needed. Next phase to hopefully get multicast working.

Oh, if you’ve downloaded a buildroot package, don’t forget to copy in the trunk/src/buildroot directory so all packages are ready. The config will need to be set from the fog.buildroot.config file.

I’ve been contemplating setting up a 0.33 server, but my 0.32 server works so well! I will figure out the ins and outs of getting this to work on 0.32 and post my findings.

Tom is a wonderful contributor to the project (with Junkhacker from what i saw), a great support technician and very professional worker.
I have nearly the same daily work as him (i’m work in 3 college with around 500 computers in total, maybe more) and i couldn’t spend the tenth of his time on FOG (testing, debugging, improving, solving, etc.).

Everybody should understand that FOG is free and so, people working on the project doesn’t earn money for the time spend on it.
They only earn, other than the last added “Donate” advances task, is thankfulness from us (computer user, technician, administrator and company owner) and a bit of our time for testing, and bring them back the few bugs we could see.

      Again, Tom, thank you. 😉

      If you’re running FOG 0.32,

The kernel likely “panicked” which would explain the “kernel error” you were seeing. Since 1.0.0 I’ve been building a 64 bit AND a 32 bit kernel. When you downloaded your new kernel, which architecture did you download? My guess is you downloaded the 64 bit kernel and this is where things went south for you.

Also, you state the file “could not be found & the kernel error” This sounds exactly like the information I just told you. The 64bit kernel cannot find a 64 bit init.gz file. It’s because of this you see the “could not be found” AND the reason why you have the kernel error.

If you download the bzImage32 file as your bzImage, things should work more properly for you.

I certainly can, just need to figure out the best approach.

if rpm -qa|grep “maria” || rpm -qa|grep “mysql” or something along those lines.
