Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott Thanks for posting this! This update has actually has caused two computers in our school district so far (that we know of) to be unable to login because the “domain logon message” will not go away. After you press “ok” to dismiss the domain message, it reappears. I removed the update on a machine and it was fixed.

Apparently another fix for this is to simply boot without network, and login (most likely as local administrator) and either then plug in and re-run the update or uninstall the 3097877 KB that caused the problem to begin with.

Be warned that a new version of the patch with the same number was released today which fixes the issue.

            RTFM

And this is why I don’t automatically install updates at my site.

We have to meet deadlines, provide tests, provide working computers - REGARDLESS of what Microsoft thinks we should do.

I don’t care if the systems aren’t 100% secure. What I care about is if that state required testing application is usable on test day; what I care about is making sure that lab is up and working for that research project.

So glad I set up a WSUS server on our domain. Its allowed me to dodge a number of bullets like this now. Its my common practice now to sit on all Microsoft patches for a week before rolling them out. Let the consumers and small businesses find the bugs. Enterprise aint got time for dat.
