@Sebastian-Roth So after taking your advice on the multiple DHCP servers, I went and checked for any possible Rogue DHCP servers using Wireshark, and I found a range that is not apart of our usual subnet, was offering and broadcasting DHCP. So the issue was rogue DHCP.

Ok so this image is not set to resizable type. Should still work though.

From the information I see that the SSD is probably around 238 GB in size. What size is the HDD?

Have you made sure bitlocker is disabled before capturing the image? There is a command for that and not via the gui! manage-bde -status C: and manage-bde -off C:

It’s not the best wiki in the world; they also do not touch on ‘templates’ in that wiki article either.

I know, you are absolutely right. We are missing quite some information in the wiki. Would be great if you find the time to help us here. I am fairly sure you can figure out that stuff. Then just write it down so we can put it into the wiki.

Hey guys we can close this I solved it.

The drivers that i had extracted with 7-zip was incomplete and with errors.
Removed the folder and extracted the .cab with pea zip and it started working as normal again.

Don’t know why that made it work, but it did. 🙂

@Basavarajnc said in is it required Internet During the Installation of FOG and It's Configurations...:

Now My Question is : is it required Internet During the Installation of FOG and at the time of Configurations…?

Yes this is a requirement. The latest kernels, inits, and precompiled binary files are downloaded as part of the installation. Also if your linux distribution is missing required dependencies the FOG installer will install them too. So yes internet access is required ONLY for installing and updating FOG.

If you have a dedicated imaging network that is isolated from internet access, you can install a second network adapter in your fog server that has internet access if required by your network design.

@kratkale said in Image capture hangs on "Saving original partition table..." Need help with fixparts:

    sgdisk -z /dev/sdx

I would have to check, but I believe sgdisk is built into FOS. You could have done a debug deploy/capture and run the same command without needing to setup clonezilla. But its great you have it fixed and can image again.

I decided to go ahead and start all over with CentOS7 instead of Fedora this time. I setup the server as well as Fog the same exact way. This time I didn’t run into any issues with the Fog server’s firewall like I did on the Fedora server. And I was able to successfully capture an image from my test laptop with no errors.

I’m running another test right now with deploying the image to the laptop to make sure there’s no issues there, but it looks like switching to CentOS worked for me.

I know the most recent wiki on installing fog on Fedora is specifically for Fedora 25 so maybe a lot has changed between Fedora 25 and Fedora 28 that the same instructions won’t work, but I’m just guessing.

Ok, the file is pretty big, so if you want i can upload the whole thing. That said, this is what i picked out from it:

The following packages will be REMOVED:
    curl libcurl4 php7.1-curl
The following NEW packages will be installed:
    libcurl13

The following additional packages will be installed:
    libcurl4
The following packages will be REMOVED:
    libcurl3
The following NEW packages will be installed:
    libcurl4 php7.1-curl
0 upgraded, 2 newly installed, 1 to remove and 145 not upgraded.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libcurl3 : Conflicts: libcurl4 but 7.58.0-2ubuntu3.2 is to be installed
libcurl4 : Conflicts: libcurl3 but 7.58.0-2ubuntu2 is to be installed
    E: Broken packages
    ii apache2 2.4.33-1+ubuntu17.10.1+deb.sury.org+1 amd64 Apache HTTP Server
ii bc 1.07.1-2 amd64 GNU bc arbitrary precision calculator language
    ii build-essential 12.4ubuntu1 amd64 Informational list of build-essential packages
ii cpp 4:7.3.0-3ubuntu2 amd64 GNU C preprocessor (cpp)

So, maybe i have too new a version of curl installed? I’m not sure how that would happen, we don’t use this server for anything but fog. Would that cause the installer to fail this way?

@Sebastian-Roth Ctrl+C doesn’t work either. Yeah we have 35+ sites that have PBX’s on older machines. We are in the middle of a tech refresh right now and and we are replacing them with servers that have ILO’s so this won’t be an issue in the future. For now what I do is ship the site a remote KVM so I can at least perform maintenance without user interaction. It was over the weekend so all site personnel were gone. This issue can be closed now. I had someone just press the power button this morning. I was just trying to find another way over the weekend.

@imagingmaster21 Well I’m still suspecting that the linux user fog’s password as been reset/out of sync with what FOG’s configuration thinks it is. Your screen shot of the error is almost 100% proof. Also if you inspect /images/dev directory on the fog server you should see one or more directories in there that are named similar to mac addresses.

Please follow the steps here to resync the linux user fog’s password with the web ui: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/11203/resyncing-fog-s-service-account-password

@Basavarajnc said in how to configure 2 Network Interfaces..One for Internet and Second for FOG Server..?:

This eth1 is for FOG SERVER (Static)
    auto eth1
    iface eth1 inet static
    address 192.168.147.XXX
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    network 192.168.147.0
    broadcast 192.168.147.255

The above thing is enough configuration of eth1 to make Fog Server Successful?

is it OK Sir OR need to do any extra Configurations over here ?

Heartily Thank you for kind Reply
