Ok so all working now, I used the latest kernel download and named the kernel via FTP bzimage and then copied that file and renamed bzimage to bzimage32, so the same kernel for both 64 32 bit which seems to work fine now. So that seems to be the issue sorted out so thanks to everyone who added a reply on this.

I have had to accept defeat for the time being and I have gone back to Fog 0.32 to get me around the Kernel issues. It has caused a back log of stations needing to be imaged.

Can I ask if anyone has any tutorials or links I can read up on to see about compiling fog kernels for 1.2.0, im a complete Ubuntu numb nuts and struggle with getting my head around the commands etc.

      Thanks all

as I mentionned on another thread, the way I image MACs is to PXE boot ubuntu (to have a somehow compatible linux running on the macminis I had on my hands), and use partclone to copy the hfs+ partitions… FOG can PXE boot that, but can’t image it… Might be a lot easier once made to work with partclone (there is a wiki page about how to have mac PXE boot).

Need more information. What type of Image? NTFS Resizeable I’m guessing?

If so your filesystem must be 100% tiptop or you will get lost files during the NTFS partition resize, delete and recreation.

This is outside of FOG’s control and is down to the badness of NTFS.

Always chkdsk /x 😄 multiple times, reboot in between.

Yes our fog servers are either Windows 2003 Server or Windows 2008 Server and they all work well as storage nodes.
