      @Eruthon Great to hear you got multicast working. It’s way more convenient to deploy this way! Well done.

      @NateUH Yes it is supposed to auto-start on bootup of your FOG server.

      Please run

      systemctl is-enabled FOGMulticastManager.service

      to see if it’s enabled on bootup. If you get disabled there must have been an issue when running the installer. You might run

      systemctl enable FOGMulticastManager.service

      or re-run the installer to do this for you.

      But if it’s enabled already then you might be running into a startup dependency issue in FOG 1.5.7 which we have fixed lately. Ask here if you need more details on this.

      @sebastian-roth

      Update:
      The switches were waiting for 260sec (4min 20sec) for the clients to send out a “I still want to receive this multicast stream” but the clients didn’t so the switches stopped sending the multicasts. I’ve changed that so the switches will now wait for 1260sec (21min) before stopping the multicast.

      Our networks team had a look and muticasting is now working!

      Remoted in. Issue possibly appeared from an Ubuntu update.

      Essentially, however, the services were not able to start because PHP was missing the mysqli extension. I suspect it was removed (or at least unlinked) during one of these OS updates.

      Cleaned up/fixed this by editing the /opt/fog/.fogsettings file and removing the php_ver, php_verAdds, and packages lines. Reran the installer and everything needed installed properly and the services all appear to be working properly too now.

      @Wayne-Workman I checked that, but I’ll check @tom-elliott’s suggestion next time I’m working with it.

      There have been major improvements made in the area of your problem on FOG Trunk. Also, 1.2.0 has known instabilities on Ubuntu 14.04 and newer. These instabilities are also fixed in FOG Trunk.

      Here is how you would upgrade to trunk: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_trunk

      If you don’t wish to use FOG Trunk, you’ll have to wait for help from someone more experienced than myself.
