@sebastian-roth said in 1.4.4 install fails - add-apt-repository: command not found:

    apt-get install software-properties-common

I may have to go with the 2nd fix and get newer packages from Yakkety to resolve the issue. This server is our office Domain controller as well as imaging server. So breaking the Samba shares and logins will have my team up in arms come Monday morning.

So sad they let this bug slip through. My plan of upgrading all my remote servers and installing Fog has hit a major road bump.

I am going to create a VM and install the latest version of Zentyal from the ISO and see if that makes any difference.

Thank you for all your patience and invaluable assistance. Above and Beyond by far!

The comment from george1421 sis solve my issue. The issue was I had created a custom menu item for dban. There must have been something wrong the way I created the menu item. I deleted the created menu item and it fixed the issue. I will revisit putting the custom menu back on my system later.

    Thanks

My bad, is there a way to look at the previous git pulls?

Nut the pulls but the git checkouts you can. Just run this:

git checkout - Switched to branch '....'

You should see the name of the previous branch you were on. Just be careful to not run the installer again being on that “older” branch. Note it down/post here and then switch back to working:

    git checkout working

@george1421 it looks like replication activity has stopped as I don’t see any movement on the graph. I have another imaging to do next week. I will try to stopping it to test your theory.

    @george1421 Thanks, George.
This turned out to be an issue with the dnsmasq update. We have now updated to the latest version (following a full removal of dnsmasq), and had to edit the /etc/dnsmasq.conf file to include the DHCP range again.

@george1421 Good News! I got it to work. I noticed that I got bunch of alert about some host is trying to access the tftpd and httpd service. It was the firewall. At the beginning, while I was setting up the node, I typed systemctl stop firewalld; while I should have typed systemstl disable firewalld since I rebooted once.

@iarwayn said in "Permission denied": another Nas Issue (Qnap TS-231):

the fact that the Nas size and occupation doesn’t appear on the main menu, but, hey! that won’t ruin my joy.

You will have to live with good enough. For those settings to be populated, you need a real fog server as the storage node. You need a few php pages to execute on the target NAS to return what FOG expects. You can probably get there if you install apache and php on the NAS and then copy over the FOG web site to the storage node. You may need a few php libraries beyond what the NAS php page supports by default. I probably can be done but the results (values on the fog homepage) may not be worth the effort.

I’m pretty sure it could be done with a synology nas because it does have packages for apache and php 5.6 that could be installed… But I never had the motivation to try or to document it.

BTW: Well done on the QNAP integration. If you feel motivated at some time please document your steps for the qnap in the tutorials section like I’ve done so the next guy can build upon what YOU have created. There is no problem for the French screen shots either, we are all professional that know how to use google translate 😉
