Since I am still kind of new to FOG I am not absolutely sure about FOG 0.32 but I suppose there is not too much of a difference when it comes to MBR…

FOG (1.2.0 an newer) does save the MBR from the uploading client at least with image type mps (single disk multiple partition) and mpa (all disks multiple partitions)! bcd(edit) has nothing to do with MBR! Those informations are saved in the first (100MB) partition of your disk, not in the MBR.

As FOG 0.32 is not under development I’d suggest you try setting up a test server with FOG 1.2.0 or even better current SVN version. If your issues still persist we are happy to jump in and fix things for you!

    Volume Licensing???

I have been using this one for a long while now - it will activate MAK Office and Windows with ZERO hassle !!! (we dont have KMS)

(Just rename the file to .ps1 instead of .zip … apparently the forms don’t allow .ps1 files to be uploaded)

Edit the script where you see EDIT ME HERE to input your corporate MAK keys … make sure to match them to the right product … you can also designate the proxy (although i never been able to do that … so I whitelist microsoft instead)

BigMan99211 very much appreciated as well for the tip i will try it.

I was looking into the market for a commercial solution and definitely even some may say that their GUI is “easier” i am completely sure that FOG by far is the best solution as far as cost effective. The commercial companies charge per computer which is a ridiculous amount of money. I know this is an open source solution but i would most definitely donate so that the developers can keep the excellent job. If anyone knows a secure way to contact them please share it… I just feel like sharing this !!! have a nice weekend everyone.

BigMan- what commercial solutions did u find that rival Fog? What prices? Just curious. Thanks!

I know what the issue is and have fixed it in svn if you’d be willing to upgrade.

Tried a multiple partition image - All Disks, no dice. Still the winload.efi error. I’m going to install Windows to a single partition and try again.

Ntfs is not done on the fog server at all which is Why I directed you to the postdownload scripts function.

While you can do all of the steps from the Client machine while in debug, you can also script it using the post download scripts to perform the changes you need.

I have a similar issue with this, except for me my snapins seem to never run. I’ve had a basic .bat file which would just restart a machine sitting queued for a good 30 minutes. I’m looking at my fog.log file on the machine I’m trying to run the snapin on and it says this:
12/29/2014 9:49 AM FOG::SnapinClient Attempting to connect to fog server…
    12/29/2014 9:49 AM FOG::SnapinClient Module is active…

It will repeat this every few minutes. I get no notices of failures from the client or the fog server. For some reason my snapins are just not being sent.
Please forgive my brashness or don’t.
All is forgiven. I contacted Jaymes Driver via PM and in response on troubleshooting an IP address typo became apparent to me and I am now able to boot to the PXE menu. Haven’t tried imaging yet but I will soon. I appreciate yours and everyone’s assistance in helping me muddle through this. Prior to this I had close to zero knowledge of Linux so it’s been a learning experience thus far and will continue to be.

I found out the motherboard I was using was for an All-In-One desktop. I fixed the problem by disabling the internal graphics adapter.

There isn’t. The reason I choose sanboot over exit is just a starter. I know some systems work fine with it and I know some systems don’t. Problem is I don’t know what systems will work and which won’t.

While I’m sure we could’ve come to these conclusions separately, I’m glad you got this part working for you. That and that you searched and found your answer right here on the forums already!!!

AH! I think I fixed it. I noticed the default group was a CN not an OU. I made a OU and changed it in both spots and upon next reboot it joined successfully.
