Another thing to keep in mind is that the installer will require remi repo.

      For future readers,

to test without using the debug deployment (just using a LIVE CD instead),

inside /etc/exports on the FOG server,
Set the fsid for /images to 0 and /images/dev to 1

Save that, exit that, then run this:
      exportfs -a

(got all that info from Tom)

Expect a completed “Troubleshoot NFS” article soon!

And some of my terrible artwork for Tom, too. lol

Bumping this thread… Running into the multiple domain thing again at work…

Just read through Tom’s reply… seems sorta confusing but I’ll give it a shot but I don’t think it will work.

Two or more domains in one environment also means two or more users / passwords for domain joining in an environment…

      Here’s my 2 cents:

Option 1.) Make a plugin. Please don’t even attempt to edit FOG gui without using a plugin. The plugin API is much simpler to use.
Option 2.) Make a bash script. It could copy the image directory and the appropriate SQL data.

I would also like to point out the potential issues of a single MACaddress getting registered on multiple systems. that alone is a big reason to not auto-approve of all pending MACs. duplicate MACs can happen when a virtual network device is installed on an image, like with virtualbox, or you have plugged a usb NIC into multiple machines.

The new clients will need to reboot to cycle their encryption keys, but other than that should shouldn’t be an issue.

Tom patched this up just now. Something about background processes… I have no idea.

It’s fixed in the latest revision.

If the syntax is similar to yum, we could make a temporary alias to change out yum to dnf. I don’t imagine the installation of packages would change too much.

More on the “Pending MAC approvals” thing…

Just imaged a Lenovo L530 and same thing.

      Using the legacy client.

It seems like FOG does this every single time you image a laptop (because one wired NIC and one wireless NIC).

It doesn’t matter how many times I approve the MAC addresses for laptops, every time I re-image them, it asks me to approve the MAC addresses again.

Same here on HP desktop DC5800 : Two ethernet cards.

If you’re trying to just add version, it at that point has already loaded System.class.php. All you’d need to do is append the FOG_VERSION to the file name. But scufa doesn’t always change even though it does always ask to check. Maybe date is better option as even if you revert the newer items are likely not read anymore.

We use our own DNS to create:

a uniquely named static Host (A) record for the Fog server’s IP address in the Forward Lookup Zone of the DNS

… then add the following command during configuration of the server post-Fog install:

      if [ -f /var/www/html/index.html ]; then mv -u /var/www/html/index.html /var/www/html/index.html.old; fi

From then on it’s just: xyzfog/
