@the_duke You are getting an rpc error that indicates the showmount command could not connect to the server on its loopback interface. So that tells me that nfs is not installed for some reason or the services needed for nfs are not running. I don’t know ubuntu so I can’t give you step by step checks. But if showmount -e 127.0.0.1 is giving an RPC error then its not talking.

You can also review the /etc/exports file but the shares are not the problem at the moment.

@Wayne-Workman Yeah I know, me either…its a SanDisk 64 GB…SDSSDP-064G. I’m assuming it’s one of their first models. We bought them close to 3 years ago.

I went ahead and solved this. First, the issue wasn’t something FOG was, or wasn’t, doing. Second, the issue (as I understood it) was the host memory.

I would ask that you try the suggested fixes in this thread, and report back on their results.

@the_duke then I doubt the DB backup worked correctly, or, I doubt the import went correctly.

Better yet forget all of that mysql nonsense. You can add all of your hosts to a group and change Group Kernel to nothing, or whatever you may want there.

      I

In case anyone else is interested in doing this I’ve updated my instructions on the fog wiki to describe

how to include SystemRescueCD [wiki]
You can do it by just booting from the CD instead, but we found it a really handy addition for resetting admin passwords, fscking filesystems, recovering broken systems etc. so we put it into fog.

@Tom-Elliott Ok, well after upgrading to svn 2096, I am still unable to deploy a vista image to this laptop. I reuploaded the image just to make sure and still no go
