I have not had any plans or thoughts on adding this quite yet as coding for it can become quite mind numbing as it will need to know the logic behind the {} and the DMI values as well as how to interpret then and get the information from the host and communicate it properly with the timing of when it gets the name inserted into the db.

I may look into it in the future, but for right now my plate is pretty full. If you want to try your hand at it and create a patch diff of the files you needed to change, feel free to post it here and I’ll add it.

actually i can customize my menu fully after i found out how it works, but i edit files that will be overwritten when i update fog when a newer svn release arrives. I am going to write me a script that checks if the files i overwrite have changed so i can mention when i need to check the files because i may miss relevant changes to source.

It would be really cool to have full force over the menu in the webif 😉 Take your time i can wait.

Um what? Multicast tasks take no slots on the queue as is designed. While you may see a task for every host this is to be expected otherwise how will the system know which clients you’re trying to multicast too?

I think the problem was launching a powershell script that then launched another script as a domain admin but the credentials wont populate when it is being run from the system account just asks for password in a non visible console.
I have compiled the main powershell script as an exe which is then run via the system account and seems to be working now with the exception of not running as domain admin.

If you’re looking to do an unattended setup, why not just insert the unattended.xml file in the Image before upload?

If you sysprep the system, it will locate that unattend (as long as it’s in C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\unattend.xml) and clean up the system. You can specify all of the things you need and it’s as a part of the Windows. The way I do it,

!.) Install the OS
2.) At the name computer, generate username I hit Ctrl+Shift+F3, the system will reboot and login to Administrator in Audit mode.
3.) Install all the software we need. Windows updates, etc…
4.) Sysprep the system. I use the code:

sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:“C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\unattend.xml”[/code]

5.) (I use vm’s but should work) WHen the image is sysprepping, I create my image task. Once the system is complete with sysprepping, I power back on the system and it creates the tasking.

Lets say we use shutdown -r -t 60 then the user has 60 seconds to save his work or he has the chance to use a fog client option to abort the action:

If aborted by user it will produce a message in the fog webif “Task aborted by user”.

Maybe we could give the user the possibility to tell us why, little edit box on fog client side where he can type some text in that will send to fog server as a side note for the aborted job.

It should be possible then to restart the task (exactly as before), force the job (give a s**t on users decission, bastard admin from hell 😉 ) or finally aborting the task like it is.

BRO I second this request … we have large screens, and its really a pity I have to scroll through a tiny window of snap-ins to find the one I want.

If you create the groups and tell your text to join the system to that group during registration time then you can just task the group
