Happy to help out where i can, we also have another batch of 60 coming. Will be interesting to see the success rate of these ones.

When i spoke to HP he was unsure of how to move forward with this. Hopefully gets escalated to there tech guys. I asked about and firmware updates, but he said only the BIOS was available.

In the meantime i have started to image with Acronis, imaging disk to disk in about 7 minutes. This will do until a fix is found. Many thanks to everyone for all the help

“no space on device” will i try to format the ssd and run tests again?

I will quickly build windows off usb and test.

The Linux was just Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, used Rufus to put it onto a USB and live booted.

Will i try the same test with a “working” laptop and see if we get the same speeds.

I’ve emailed my guy at HP and will see what they say.

Going to upload from “slow” laptop now and see what speeds i get.

Yes, iv updated to the latest 01.03.03 Rev.A, and my tech guys setup all the BIOS in the same way.

Im going to rip through the 2 laptops and reset BIOS, then make sure all settings are duplicated.

Going to see if i can pull some more hardware info and see if there are any differences there…

      Littlwe update.

So i swapped SSD out of a “slow” building laptop into a “working full speed” laptop.

So i thought the working laptop would now build slow, well it didnt. Building at full speed.

The other laptop with the SSD from the original full speed laptop is still building slow.

So maybe its not SSD related, but something on the motherboard?

      Did anyone get this working?

I have a large batch of the EliteBook 840 G6.

Some of which build and other are extremely slow.

Looks like my batch has 2 versions or firmware versions.

The one that works is “Toshiba KXG60ZNV256G 79VA215DKRVN” and the other is the same drive but an older firmware by the looks of it.

Im in contact with HP to see about getting a firmware updater…

    • DHCP / Vendor Classes / Multiple EFI files

      FOG Server: 1.4.4
      Storage Nodes: 1.4.4
      Ubuntu: 14.04.5.LTS
      DHCP server 2012 r2

Im currently stuck on DHCP Vendor Classes.

I have a wide range of laptops and computers and we are moving over to UEFI Windows 10.

I had a policy in place for PXEClient:Arch:00007 to use the ipxe.efi boot file. This worked fine. How ever some of the laptops dont like this efi and wont boot, but will boot with the snp.efi.

I would like them all to boot and create policys for each. I noticed in the DHCP logs i have 2 different PXECleint:Arch:0007 versions. PXEClient:Arch:00007:UNDI003010 and PXEClient:Arch:00007:UNDI003016

When i define my vendor classes in DHCP i add the full PXEClient info in the ASCII field for both vendor classes.

      vendor class.PNG

Then when i create my policy for the scope i add the vendor class in and set options 66 and 67 in the options / DHCP Standard Options. Do the 66 and 67 need to be set in the Vendor Class itself? Does that make sense?

      option.PNG

Either way when i set them in either or both the laptops just boot to the unidionly.kpxe and dont boot fog menus.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before? I have read the “BIOS and UEFI Co-Existence” guide on the Wiki page, but its not much help for using 2 efi files.

      Thanks in advance

      FOS usb boot disk

I have around 25 of the these devices that i use as ThinPcs for Vmware.

To save imaging them one by one i would like to use FOG and a image i already have for other ThinPCs.

The lattepanda does not support PXE as far i can see.

Im going to investigate the FOS you mentioned.

      Thanks

    • LattePanda 2G32GB

Does any one have any experience of the LattePandas and FOG.

They do not pxe boot, but they can image fine with CloneZilla.

Iv tried to get them to restore from an image on one of my storage nodes, but theres no restore option so i guess it doesn’t like the image format.

I have changed the image to PartClone and PartImage, uncompressed and compressed. But neither seem to work.

When i upload the LattePanda image with CloneZilla to my storage node manually i get a load of partition files in the directory. Capture.PNG

      Any advice is welcome.

      Thanks

    • View FOG logs from web interface?

Would it be possible to view the fog.log for the client on the web interface?

Would be helpful for fault finding a computer with out remoting into C drive or logging on to the PC.

      Thanks.

    • Bulk HostName Change

      FOG Server: 1.4.4
      Storage Nodes: 1.4.4
      Ubuntu: 14.04.5.LTS

My organization is changing the way we name hosts.

I was hoping i could export the hosts as a CSV file, make the changes to the CSV file ie change the host name and add in the OU location so it moves the new hosts to the correct location.

When i try to import the host file i get errors saying “One or more macs are associated with a host”

Is this possible? Or will i have to export the hosts, then delete all hosts and then import edited CSV file?

      Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for your answer.
But yesterday it didn’t works even i reset encryption data. I had to install manually the new client version

can we see a client log from a non updating client please?

I had the same issue, reset encryption but it client did not auto update. My fix was the GPO to install the new client as mentioned earlier.

I got an authentication error on the log.

Was just looking to see if i uploaded an error log on my old posts
