      @sebastian-roth
      I’m currently creating a new FOG server as a test to see if it does the same with that, if it works fine, I’ll re-install FOG on the old server, however, as it’s a school, and staff are teaching using the PC’s that have been imaged with FOG, If I was to re-install FOG would it affect the machines if the client (the FOG Service) can’t talk to the server, IE, it’s not going to reboot or disconnect from the domain or anything?

      Thanks,

      Dan

      @dloudon96 In fog images have 2 components.

      Raw data files Database definitions (descriptors) of the image

      You can copy (move) files between your old fog server and your new fog server no problem. You must recreate the image definitions in the database by hand on the new fog server. If you have the old fog server still running you can just copy and paste between the web GUIs.

      FYI: If your old fog server is a 1.3.x you can export the database definitions from the web gui of the old fog server and import them into the new fog server.

      @dloudon96 said in FOG_1.3.4 - Image location issue:

      /images/dev/00232497514f:

      If you see files in /images/dev after the upload is completed [ /images/dev/00232497514f: ] then you have an FTP issue. I outlined the steps to fix this just yesterday in another post. https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/9755/storage-management-not-showing-my-images/12

      There is also a wiki page for helping sort out FTP error messages: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Troubleshoot_FTP

      My bet during upload you were getting either an ftp authentication error (as in the picture in the link I referenced first) or a database update error. Both are related to the linux fog user account being out of sync with the FOG management gui.

      Thanks, Tom, that’s worked, I knew there was something extra to do with the encryption data that I needed to do, but couldn’t remember.

      @dloudon96 Just go ahead and stick the extra drive into the box - hook it up however you can, leave the old drive in there and don’t change it’s cables around. SATA II and up is hot-swapable so if you’re just working with SATA III you don’t even have to power the server down to add the disk but you can if you want. After that, run the below commands and provide us with the output (in a nice code-box please). We can get more specific with what’s next after this.

      lsblk pvdisplay vgdisplay lvdisplay df -h fdisk -l

      @Tom-Elliott that’s what i meant to convey. the default is 10, and that works fine for most in initial setups and test environments. it’s up to the person running the server to monitor and adjust settings to fit their environments optimal configuration.
