@doubleailes [Moderator note] Please start your own thread because this thread is over 8 months old and I’m sure your computing environment is not the same as the OP of this thread. In your thread, please include what version of FOG you are using on both the master node and storage node as well as what OS is used on the master node and storage node(s)

@Tom-Elliott I do believe that is fixed. As far as I have tested anyway. I will report back if anything changes

Needed to not use root as msqluser for storage node.
Set it back to fogstorage with password from the fog webgui fog config →fog settings → storage node settings (something like that)
Put that in the storage node servers /opt/fog/.fogsettings and redid the install again. All is well again

@Quazz I know it’s not a nice bit of info, but this isn’t something I can fix within the code base, unfortunately.

The “trick” i do to keep the GUI functional is simply not enough. The trick, btw, is basically if the image has no storage group associated, get the first created group (smallest ID in the database) and use that for representation.

While it works to keep the GUI functional, it simply CANNOT work for replication. I imagine the same feat could be replicated on Snapins.

      I assume you’re using FOG 1.2.0 ?

The first thing to make sure of, since you want two INDEPENDENT storage nodes (non - replicas of each other), both storage nodes need to be inside their OWN storage group. They can’t be in the same group, it’ll only create problems down the road (for your specific desires).

Set both as the master node of their storage group.

Can you verify that the new storage node’s credentials are set correctly? https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_FTP#Credentials_.2F_Passwords

Also, you might wanna look into FOG Configuration -> FOG Settings -> Storage nodes. Those two fields are for the FTP user and pass, which would be the same since your 2nd storage node is local…

You may also wanna look at how you’re mounting the USB disk with in /etc/fstab and make sure you’re mounting in a way that includes full permissions (read and write).
