    • RE: Error while deploying Latitude 7290

Found the problem, needed to disable TPM 2.0 security in the Bios prior to deployment.

@george1421 Thanks, testing. I’ll post an update once complete.
      Quick question:
If you have an image and I would like to capture new version of it.
Would it ok to overwrite it or capture it as a new entry?

    • rcu_sched self detected stall on CPU when capture

      Hi all,

Fresh build ubuntu 18.04, FOG 1.5.4

When trying to capture, it been slow and then received the CPU error. No issue when deploying.

Read around here that kernel downgrade(to 4.15.2) might be a solution, but the issue was not marked as solved.

      1. Is this still the suggested solution?
      2. If yes, could you please provide detailed instructions how to do it?

      Thank you,

    • RE: Capture 7290 with UEFI

@george1421 The following steps allowed me to capture and deploy 7290 image:

      1. Followed the steps in the article, set the policy to Architecture 00009.
      2. Build Windows 10 from scratch to eliminate hard drive bitlocker encryption.
      3. Disabled TPM in the Bios. (Just to be safe)

Although, everything seems to work, there ACPI errors which I am not sure if it’s a concern.
      Please see Video 2 HERE

      Thanks,

Complete the settings as described in the article.
Does anyone knows which uefi architecture E7290 has? I called Dell support, they do not have a clue,

      Thanks,

    • Capture 7290 with UEFI

      Dear All,

      Fog 1.5
Client: Latitude 7290 with Windows 10

I have Latitude E7290. The boot is uefi and it seems that I cannot change it to legacy.
In addition, it seems that there bitlocker signature on dev\sda3 header. I disable the bitlocker service, but that did not help.

How can I capture\deploy this laptop with FOG?

Please keep in mind that our FOG is servicing other laptop models with legacy bios.

      Thank you,

      Thanks George,

After removing the 4123 it seems to be working properly.

Should I keep tpxe or change it back to kkpxe?

      Thanks,

    • RE: Issue with FOG 1.5

1.Is the 7270 in uefi or bios mode? Yes
2.Have you updated the firmware in those systems from what was shipped from Dell? current version 1.18.5 ( latest)
3.What (exactly) do you have for dhcp option 67 {boot-file} undionly.kkpxe

      Thanks,

      @sebastian-roth

I cannot say how it was changed. I never touch the settings, unless it is a fresh install which was not the case.
