      I’ve seen this happen before, but wasn’t sure what caused it. It seems after I deploy my snapins (and I need to do more testing) that it starts complaining.

      All I’ve done is deployed an image, it pulled it’s assigned snap ins, set it after it imaged to join to the domain and reboot anyways if user is logged in.

      Anything would be great.

      Thanks!

      edit: I searched it’s MAC address and there’s nothing else but itself that comes up.

      I’m a little confused to what you’re wanting here.

      FOG can handle the renaming (in fact I suggest it) and will notify the users before rebooting.

         mysql $options "UPDATE hosts SET hostImage = $count WHERE hostImage = $imageID"
         echo "Attempt completed"
         count=$((count + 1))
      done

      #set new auto-increment.
      echo "-------------------"
      highestID=$(mysql $options "$selectHighestImageID")
      newAutoIncrement=$((highestID + 1))
      echo "Attempting to change the auto_increment for the images table to $newAutoIncrement"
      mysql $options "ALTER TABLE images AUTO_INCREMENT = $newAutoIncrement"
      echo "Attempt completed"

      Here it is. 🙂 My guess would be to change the SELECT imageID from images to SELECT snapinID from snap ins… but I’m taking a wild guess. 😛

      Hi @eseelke!

      Is this Windows 7 or 10?

      Here’s a small write up I made. It’s pretty condensed, but if you need help with anything just let me know.

    • Resetting FOG Snap In IDs

      I found the script that @Wayne-Workman posted for fixing the numbering of the image IDs (which worked great!)

      Is there a script or a way to reset the ID numbers of the snap ins? We’re getting into the 20s-30s and the numbering is becoming a bit sporadic during full registration.

      Thanks. 🙂

    • Upgrading to trunk 1.3.1 RC-2

      I’m a little frustrated that I can’t seem to get git to work correctly, but I just don’t want to break anything on my installation.

      I’m running FOG 1.3.0 and am trying to upgrade to the latest trunk release following the current instruction set to move to trunk, but I always used svn before, so I don’t want there to be any conflicts if I do git now.

      I ran

      git clone https://github.com/FOGProject/fogproject.git /root/fogproject/

      and got

      destination path '/root/fogproject' already exists and is not an empty directory.

      which that’s where my 1.3.0 resides.

      and svn up doesn’t work anymore.

      What’s the best way from using svn before to switching to git without breaking a whole bunch of stuff? Or am I just being dumb and doing something completely stupid (rough week)?

      Thanks

      • FOG Version: 1.3.0 Stable
      • FOG Node Version: 1.3.0 RC-37
      • OS: Debian 8.6
      Description

      FOG server is losing connection to the database as far as I can tell.

      This is partially my fault. I saw a note that mysqlpass was set to blank by default on the 1.3.0 installer now, so I thought when I upgraded that was what was causing my FOG node to have a database issue, so I cut the password out and saved it, which made it disappear. I put the password it had saved back in and it seemed to fix it for a little bit, then it went back out.

      I’m really hoping that I can salvage what I have here.

      My CPU usage is sitting around 30-40% while the FOG server isn’t doing anything.

      edit: it’s back. I didn’t do anything. I’ll go away here soon though.

      @Tom-Elliott The thing is that it isn’t always the same one. Office will usually go through fine, but sometimes it hangs there. VMware installs and I’ve tested it to install just fine, but sometimes it will be the one that hangs up. Visual Studio too.

      Here’s what I have

      Office 2016’s install.bat

      @echo off
      setup.exe /adminfile adminfile

      Simple, but here’s the admin file.

      1_1482499379854_2016-12-23 08_21_44-Microsoft Office Customization Tool - adminfile.MSP.png 0_1482499379853_2016-12-23 08_21_32-Microsoft Office Customization Tool - adminfile.MSP.png

      Update UI is hidden, Setup reboot is turned off, and Display Level is set to None.

      And I’m just realizing I deleted the Visual Studio 2013 zip… @Tom-Elliott Does FOG store snap ins somewhere I can get to them? Then I can download it and show you the installer.

      @Tom-Elliott This is the one that it got stuck on. at I rebooted a few minutes after 4, removed the task, and then it continued after that. It’s 5.97 GiB in total.

      Server
      • FOG Version: 1.3.0 RC-37
      • OS: Debian 8.6.0
      Client
      • Service Version: 0.11.7
      • OS: Windows 7
      Description

      Namely the big ones are Visual Studio and office. I bumped up the limit for Snap Ins past what is normally set and it does install, but the FOG client doesn’t see that it’s finished. Sometimes it’s VMware, sometimes it’s Visual Studio 2013, sometimes it’s office, but on the bigger ones it get caught up and I have to reboot, remove the rogue snap in task, and then it’ll go.

      Is this me pushing snap-ins too far or the programs messing up? As I said, they do install, but the FOG client doesn’t realize that and doesn’t exit to go to the next one.
