    • Starting a donation project for FOG and wanting to gauge general interest

      Hi everyone!

      FOG has been a part of my IT career for a long time now and I’d like to give back to the community.

      Here soon a designer buddy and I will be designing t-shirts for you guys to purchase and we’re going to take the profits from these t-shirts and donate it back to the FOG project. We’re using a site called Booster to sell the shirts and we’ll be doing a monthly rotation on shirts.

      I just wanted to see what you guys thought about this and if you’d be into it.

      Thanks!

    • RE: Image upload & deploy taking a long time

      @brad-schumann Try this, I ran into this on Surface’s.

      Open command prompt as admin.

      manage-bde -off 😄

      manage-bde -status 😄

      Fingers crossed that it will fix it. In my case, Windows was by default encrypting the free space which caused issues.

    • RE: Image upload & deploy taking a long time

      @Sebastian-Roth Glad I could help. Yeah, I hate that Windows gives you the option to “Turn On Bitlocker”, but don’t tell you that the free space is encrypted. I am not sure if this is a something with the latest update/service pack for Windows 10, but I know that I’ve only seen it on Surface’s so far. I haven’t made an image for the latest Windows 10 so we’ll see. 🙂

      @x23piracy You’re too kind. 😉

    • RE: No resizing whilst capturing latest DELL Laptops

      Can you run the following for me in an administrative command prompt?

      manage-bde -status

      manage-bde -off

      I think that the image they ship it with is encrypting the free space. There was another issue with a problem similar to this and I have a feeling it’s in the same category.

    • RE: Windows 7 64 bits image

      I would suggest that you move to 1.3.0 and the latest RC. It’s going to be much faster and much more reliable that your current setup. A 790 is plenty to run it.

      @Tom-Elliott Great, thanks Tom. Good to hear. I signed up for a few bugs with a beta anyway. 🙂

    • RE: FOG Client GUI reuse for Notification messages.

      I’m a little confused to what you’re wanting here.

      FOG can handle the renaming (in fact I suggest it) and will notify the users before rebooting.

    • RE: Backing up user profiles/data before deploying image

      @Tom-Elliott Huh, yeah I suppose I didn’t think about that with the infections. I would hope that McAfee would grab it, but who are we kidding. It’s McAfee.

      We have some users who are having issues (first time FOG deployment here for a user) and that’s just something that’s come up. I’m trying to make it so I can tell it to image and the process is done from there. No touching it or anything. Just image and you have a new PC in 20 minutes. 🙂

    • RE: fog.drivers script will not run correctly in postdownloadscripts

      @Quazz The IP is correct. I must have gotten things turned around looking at the Auto install script on the FOG wiki.

      So I need to make a fog directory in root like this, correct?

      /fog/Drivers/Win7/OptiPlex 980/x64

      • FOG Version: 1.3.0 RC-23
      • OS: Debian 8 jessie
      Description

      Home button on FOG WebUI has the e in Home underneath of Home. This is only fixed by zooming out all the way and back in, but returns when the page refreshes. I’ve notice this for a while, but wanted to document that the issue exists.

      Minor bug, but still a bug I suppose. 🙂

    • RE: Starting a donation project for FOG and wanting to gauge general interest

      @adukes40 Hey TitsMcgeeHC 🙂

      MDT/WDS is so overpushed in /r/sysadmin there has to be the voice of reason. I see people running FOG over there and wanting to move to MDT and a lot of times they have no clue about their FOG server. They’ll be running .32 and not know what they’re missing out on. Once I show them the light, then they realize that there’s no reason to leave FOG.

      Not yet, me and my buddy are making a few to start. We’ve been asked to have the OG FOG logo and the FOG clound among the first out, so once we get markups I’ll post them here. 🙂

    • RE: fog.drivers script will not run correctly in postdownloadscripts

      @george1421 No problem. 🙂

      That would be nice though. I had to jump through a few threads (which is a given sometimes!) and the wiki page for Auto Installing drivers didn’t seem as robust as the scripts that I had found.

      But that’s how progress and the process work. One problem at a time and always improving. 🙂

      @george1421 @Tom-Elliott @Quazz Okay, it looks like it worked! Amazing!

      You guys are simply the best devs/mods/team ever.

      Although I forgot to disable FOG Client in my sysprepped image, I fixed and and will be double testing again. It went through the section without a hitch though. 🙂

      Hi @eseelke!

      Is this Windows 7 or 10?

      Here’s a small write up I made. It’s pretty condensed, but if you need help with anything just let me know.

    • RE: file .reg SnapIns

      You could do something like a batch file

      @echo off
      reg add xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

      Then add that into your snap ins and deploy it!
