If you are going to mass update the database like this, stop apache and php-fpm first, then run your update, and finally restart php-fpm and then apache. Both php-fpm and apache cache database values for faster access. You are changing the underlying database but its not seen in the UI because of the cache.

      #wiki worthy.

@svalding What would be interesting to know is what is different between the two docks.

      Please do the following

Schedule a debug deploy/capture (tick the check box for debug before you submit the task) for the nic of the working dock. It doesn’t matter if its a capture or deploy because we are not going to do either. PXE boot the target computer, after FOS boots you should see several screens of text press enter a few times until you get to the linux command prompt. Key in
lspci -nn | grep etwork Record what you see there for the network adapter. The hex codes are important. Repeat the same process with the non-working dock. You may get warning messages about not able to access the network, but it still should allow you to get to the linux command prompt. Collect the output of the lspci command from above. Please post the output of those two systems in this thread.

I agree with Quazz about updating to the latest RC. Every new RC has fixes.

@svalding Hey that’s great you have it going now. Don’t forget to disable dnsmasq you started setting up. It will cause you some pain/confusion if its left running and you don’t need it.

Well, the error message seems obvious, doesn’t it? Check your FTP credentials! https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_FTP (and make sure you have it right in your .fogsettings file as well before running the installer again)

@Tom-Elliott That worked! I believe the issue lies in the fact that we have some customizations in the bootmenu.class.php file. When I removed those directories and reran the installer, I didn’t copy that file over and everything worked like a charm.

I’ll be copying our custom file over, and trying it again and if it breaks, I will know for certain the issue lies there. I can then compare the two and make changes to the new file being pulled down by the installer.

      Thanks for your fast help!
