      Q

      Upgrading always has the potential to screw some things up, the package handler seems to struggle doing it properly in one go, at least in my experience.

      There are some steps to take to get FOG to play nice on Ubuntu 16.04 though, because it removed PHP5 from its repository and made PHP7 the default one.

      @Sebastian-Roth
      Yes, very much under time pressure in the business at the moment… I had to rebuild another Fog server… and I uploaded my 2 main images onto it manually… so I didnt use any of the backup procedure.
      This is all a consequence of being forced by company circumstances to run things into production without any testing time…

      When I can, I will be copying the sql table over to the new server.
      I will update as to success when trying to push an image out.

      Do you want best practices to to get FOG to deploy to this system? The answer is pretty different.

      If you want FOG to deploy to this system then you can either use FOG 1.2.0 stable (with current kernels) or deploy FOG 1.2.0 trun (which is a dev release of the soon to be FOG 1.3.0). You can use FOG 1.2.0 stable (I’ll assume what you have installed already??). That will work with win7 no problem. If you want to deploy win10, gpt disks, or to a uefi system you will need to be on the trunk release.

      We can go into best practices once its clear what you are shooting for.

      @SteveB689 OK so this is just research then. Fair enough.

      I’m sorry you had so much frustration setting up FOG. I know it is a complex environment especially for those coming from a purely MS Windows background. Hopefully you found the support you needed in the FOG forums.

      On a positive note it sounds like Arrowhead-IT has personal experience with this hardware so you have someone that already went down the path you are on.

      @Wayne-Workman said in Failing to UPLOAD image to the FOG server:

      @SteveB689 probably something along the lines of fixparts /dev/sda and then :w and :q but I could be remembering wrong. If your intention is to create documentation, just say run fixparts /dev/sda and follow on-screen instructions.

      No probs… that’s what I typed ,…
      this can be marked as SOLVED
