@Tom-Elliott I updated earlier at work today (like I do most days) and I did notice that “adding needed repositories” took significantly longer than usual.

But - if that’s what it takes to ensure the remi repo gets installed, then that’s what it takes.

That worked. I cleared the databases and reimported all of my hosts. I am getting an error now on them being added to Active Directory. Not sure if related to the import or the trunk version I am on. which is 3735.

Error is : 7/9/2015 4:23 PM FOG::HostnameChanger Domain Error! (‘Unknown Error’ Code: 1326)

      This is now resolved.

Apparently there was an issue in the codebase that wasn’t allowing the repository to be installed. I will likely need to figure out a more suitable fix in the installer itself.

All that’s needed is to run the installer. If there’s a problem, go to shell and run: (on ubuntu this is):

      sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Confirm the pops if they come up as their defaulted selected item.

Re-run the installer and all should work.

unfortunately, the easiest way to do that would probably be directly in the database. fog database, hosts table, hostKernel column, i think
(i use phpMyAdmin for these kinds of tasks, but someone better at command line stuff could probably tell you how to do it with a single command)

Found a solution that works for me. I deleted all of the computers and reimported them. I added a number string to the description field that I can search by to add them to groups. All of these laptops are stored on shelves with 15 per row and 6 shelves down, so a total of 90 per shelf. I numbered them in groups of 15. So my numbering scheme is: room they are in, shelving unit number, actual shelf then laptop order number. So looks like this: The first computer is E505010101 (E505 is the room). Last computer on bottom shelf unit 1 is: E505010615. This allow me to search for E50501 and pull up all 90 at once, or search in groups of 15. Is working well for me.

Any other ideas for another way of doing?
