@Tom-Elliott Thank you! This helps a lot! Funny enough, it was tftp-server that I installed. I suspect we may have had a different issue (maybe during a patch management cycle) and these things just got tied together.

@kenneth-sisco I know it took you a long way to get here, but its great when you can pinpoint the root of the error and fix it knowing that its not just some random crud that may reappear when it will hurt the most.

Great! Let’s mark this one as solved. In short, the issue for the kernel update was related to the permissions on the /var/www/fog/service/ipxe folder, which was a confirmed bug in version 1.4.4.

I’ll move the other issue to a new thread. Cheers!

Updated to the latest trunk release on the SVN and had to run the SQL commands listed here:
      https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/7734/snapin-id-was-not-set-or-unable-to-be-created-svn-revision-5661/27

After that, it started working great.

      Thanks for the help, guys!

      Cool - issue resolved!

This was absolutely an issue on our network, but we’re not sure if it was an old static Rendezvous Point that was configured on our core or if it was our VPC redundancy between our two nexus switches, but we were able to solve it by disabling pim on one of the nexuses and removing that static RP.

Thanks for the help on investigating, everyone. It’s much appreciated.

can configure this. But since I installed

You can’t really, not without probably breaking a lot of stuff.

To get the custom multicast address feature, you’ll need to move to FOG Trunk.

Here are some articles on that:
      https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_trunk
      https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/SVN

I was actually the person who requested the custom multicast address and port, lol. So, When I say it’d be very difficult and you’d likely break lots of stuff, I’ve been there and done that.

FOG Trunk is really stable right now, too. I use it at work and home. I’ve already imaged my entire building this summer in under a month - and I use the custom multicast settings.
