Just a note and i will check now but i just did the upgrade to check as per my other issue (hosts not shown in fog) and now the login username and password (still default) don’t work.
I checked and no schema changes for the DB where requested. Like i say, i’ll do a fresh install of 3689 but as an upgrade it seemed to go wrong…
I’m with you on this manual stuff.
Although I think it could be easier by only putting a few versions. Like LTS verisons
Anyway i have already built a 1.3 manual for CentOS7x64 only but is easy to follow for beginners. I have a wiki mod account and will import on lease. Currently i am upgrading my version and making sure it’s 100% and has any new mods since i 1st wrote it.
/images at 1st install is a new option that i have made a note of but not cleaned up yet.
Please find @ http://blog.ibuddy.info/index.php/2015/06/fog-v-1-3-on-centos-7-full-install-guide/
I think one for Ubuntu LTS (latest) and maybe another should be enough? no??
I’m also going to make a xenserver and vmware VM for 1.3 So anyone want to do a hyper-v or vbox ?
If so we could all setup the same so it’s the same for whatever you need. documents can then be std.
OK, so i was right to report. It’s nice to know you when you make a difference. just saying fixed feels more like a i wasted your/my time on reporting.
correct.
I’m a little lost. I download my SVN from https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk
i thought this was the latest and greatest. At the time of testing i downloaded the latest i could (thought) and thats the version i reported in to give you the best report on the latest version. It there is another link that provides an even newer version, please let me know. Don’t want to raise bugs if already addressed. Or due to this post is it now fixed in 3685 ?
Nice to see protection on the images. Could we see it on the hosts/groups as well?
OS = CentOS 7 x64
State = Full clean install test
FOG V 3683
Adding a HOST manually seems to work says added but view all or search will not find host. Try adding again and it says it exists so I guess it in the DB (not got time to check)
I was trying to test FOG mobile view. Oh… it’s listed in here so yes to DB.
I have upgraded fog to the latest SVN (3596)
Not that this made an diff but an update.
I uploaded a basic build we have instead of the Dell OS and it deployed in 2mins !!! i’m sure this is faster than .32 (current live)
I agree. I’ll opt out of this i think. would be nice if you could just add to the “Host Kernel Arguments” or something.
Yes, image is the Dell base OS as this was just a test. Live images are manually created so this shouldn’t be an issue.
the GUI error only shows for a second so missed the 1st time !
FOG = 3587
uploaded an image from Latitude 3550 worked fine.
Windows7(5)
Single Disk - Resizable
Everything
Protected = N (what is this one?)
Compression = 6
On trying to deploy to another laptop (same model/purchase date(so firmware)) i get “failed to restore image”.
not sure if bug of config issue. (added to bug as not live ver)
i was just testing the iPXE menu at this time.
Location 1 = FOG Configuration -> iPXE Boot Menu ->
Location 2 = FOG Configuration -> Fog Settings -> FOG Boot Settings ->
Yes i have played with them all.
SVN = 3586
OS = CentOS 7 x64
I’m sure i’ve tested this a lot but NoMenu options for PXE in both config locations don’t seem to work.
Ah yes. (sheepish look)
on reading again I see.
I skipped it because it had comments from others but he is the only other post.
