GIT 8056: FOG Server loops after deleting host
-
This seems to be a hard error and may be a duplicate of the task not finishing error. What I am seeing is when you delete a host, the browser never finishes and it loops on the server until you close the browser window. The host seems to be deleted okay.
-
Borrowed from Sebastian’s signature: Please take a look at your apache error log file (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log)
Take a look at this file on the FOG Server, see if there are any exceptions thrown at the time you deleted the host. This will guide the devs to resolve your issue.

I encounter the same exact issue. delete and the browser makes a bunch of clicking sound as if you’re selecting something in windows.
-
@nrg is this after entering credentials?
-
yes, after entering credentials…
in IE11.0.9 win7
have not tried it in any other browser. -
@nrg Can you try it on another browser? IE is not always nice with javascript.
-
I was using Firefox.
-
@tmerrick can you try on chrome?
-
Fails also on Chrome. Also, there is now a new pop up re-authorization screen just before it loops.
-
@tmerrick re authorization should be happening if the credentials you’re entering are invalid.
-
Nope, it happens every time that I hit delete. This seems to be the cause of the looping.
-
@tmerrick What OS is FOG running on?
-
Red Hat 6.
-
@Testers Can anyone reproduce this? I’ve had no luck on my end, it works as expected.
-
I do not know if this helps, but the host was part of 3 groups when they were deleted.
-
@tmerrick Can you describe, verbatim click-for-click exactly what you’re doing to reproduce this error?
-
Lookup a host.
Then press the Delete menu item
Confirm the removal.
It now pops up a mini screen asking for login/password.
It then says that it is attempting to perform actions - and hangs here. -
@tmerrick I can confirm the issue on my setup. I’m on 8064 and using Firefox 46.0.1
Although, after several attempts, the host does delete but the confirmation window never goes away on it’s own.
-
Finally was able to get around to locating the issue on this. It has since been replicated and now I am certain this is solved.
Please update and let me know.
Thank you for reporting and sorry it took so long to figure out.
