Printer doesn't appear

v0.11.0 is released and fixes this issue. Can you test when you have a chance?

@Joe-Schmitt Hi,

@Matthieu-Jacquart those logs indicate older versions of the client. It should also be noted, as described the changelog, the new default server address is fogserver, not fog-server. This is for people who transition from the legacy client, where fogserver was also the default.
-
@Joe-Schmitt Oh I didn’t notice the “-”… Try with IP adress, it’s ok for installing new client.
But bad news, after 5 minutes I’ve got this :EDIT : checking on other classroom, on 2 computers, this time printer appears… but 4 times !
-
@Matthieu-Jacquart please upload the entire fog.log from the computer with multiple instances of the same printer.

-
v0.11.1 of the client has been released and addresses this new issue. Can you test when you have a chance?
-
@Joe-Schmitt It’s better but not perfect
-
Those are leftovers from when 0.11.0 messed up. Looking at the logs 0.11.1 is running perfectly. Try adding a different printer / manualy removing this extra ones / unassigning that printer from the host / restarting the computer. (Basically just try any of them).
-
@Joe-Schmitt Ok, I removed multiple printers from client, change printer in fog for this client (remove S081Laser1 and add S072Laser1), reboot client, and I’ve got this :

and :

That means windows couldn’t add your network printer. Are you sure you can even add it manually?
-
@Joe-Schmitt OK OK ! My fault, I made modifications on my print server and had to reboot it.
After server reboot everything seems fine -
Does this mean we can finally mark this thread as solved?
-
@Joe-Schmitt Euh, I don’t know, I just made change on client, I remove S072Laser1 to add S081Laser1, and there’s the result : still 3 times S081Laser1 and S072LAser1 is not removed automatically.
-
Is this the same machine that you screenshotted earlier? If so once again, these are leftovers from 0.11.0
-
@Joe-Schmitt Ok, I’m going to make test on another machine, I’ll give you result in 5 minutes
-
@Joe-Schmitt test on another machine : works great ! change printer, return to previous one : only the good printer is mapped.
You can close the topic Thanks a lot ! -
@Matthieu-Jacquart
Or you can try clicking (Only Assigned Printers) on that computer and it will delete everything except the printer you want to add… -
@Raymond-Bell yes but for some users there is also a GPO adding another shared printer, so I don’t want for them that only one printer appears.
But with last test it seems ok.
