FOG Removing Printers Regardless of Settings
-
Noticed a problem where on a Windows 10 x64 machine FOG removes non-fog printers even though the host properties are set to “no printer management” or “fog managed printers”. Same result with or without fog printers assigned. Anyone else seen this?
Ubuntu 14.04
SVN 6124
Fog Client v0.9.10 -
Informing @Jbob about this.

As an update I just had this happen on two Win7 x64 Pro workstations so its not just a Windows 10 thing.
-
@Scott-B Can you give us more details about how the printers were installed?
-
The printers in this case are setup in FOG local printers. They are all pretty much setup the same. This is on of the printers where I saw the issue.
Printer Alias K_Staff Room_B231 Printer Port IP_10.195.66.53 Printer Model Kyocera FS-4200DN KX Printer INF File \\thefogserverip\Infs\Win7x32\Kyocera\4200DN\OEMSETUP.INF Printer IP 10.195.66.53
They are then assigned to a group or a specific host in FOG. On the client if not already, I’ll make sure the legacy fog client has been removed for the new fog client. I’ll stop and start the fog service on the PC. When it FOG checks for work it doesn’t add the fog assigned printer, but does remove any other installed ones.

I think this is related: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/6615/printer-problems

I have been working a lot with FOG printer management on Windows 10 x64 hosts on the latest trunk and I have not had this problem at all.
-
@Scott-B Is this still an issue?
-
Marking this solved for now as we didn’t hear back from anyone. If you have printer issues please follow the link Wayne posted below. If you still think there is an issue within FOG please let us know!

I apologize for the delay, been swamped. It does seem the issue has been resolved. I have not seen it after the past several SVNs. Thank you very much for your help.
