Isn’t the Pam service being made by vsftpd? The only change that I’m aware of for the service was changing from an init.d startup to an upstart startup of the service. Maybe this is one of the differences? You could test this by, with keeping your current configuration and stopping the service with upstart methods. Then try to start it using init.d style startup. If this fails we know that the main difference is in upstart/init.d. And not the configuration directly. It’ll also give us a means to fix this issue in the installer.

Upstart doesn’t seem to work.
administrator@ubuntu:~$ start vsftpd
start: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type=“method_call”, sender=“:1.10” (uid=1000 pid=6267 comm=“start vsftpd “) interface=“com.ubuntu.Upstart0_6.Job” member=“Start” error name=”(unset)” requested_reply=“0” destination=“com.ubuntu.Upstart” (uid=0 pid=1 comm="/sbin/init ")
I normally use “servcie x start/stop/restart” which works fine.

i am running Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS with pam_service_name=vsftpd and no problems

r1605 released.
Fixes multiple issues. Add’s folder checking to the task generation. If the folder doesn’t exist, doesn’t allow you to create any download tasks and informs the user they need to upload an image. Fixes the search stuff so it only returns individual results, not multiple results. Fixes the adding hosts to group from host list.
-
Downloaded and installed svn r1605 but it is still not possible to add hosts to a group.

I’m running 12.04.4 LTS. Are you doing fresh installs or do you update ? I’ve done several updates maybe something broke along the way.

Works for me on rev 1573, from host and group menu. What OS are you using ? Have you checked your logs for mysql/php errors ?

If you refer to the add hosts to group it is correct it worked in provious releases, but has been broken lately.

r1607 released.
Adding hosts to groups has been corrected now. 1607 is the latest, but I think I fixed this last night in 1606. I was just tired so I didn’t post anything. 1607 also, now, hides the progress row information until the first refresh of the active tasks.
Thank you,

r1608 released.
Just add’s Junkhacker’s hook. It’s deactivated by default, but will just need a simple set of $active = true and you’ll be good.

I’ve been doing updates on top of updates on top of updates.
i tend to keep up to date with releases to help debug. -
r1608: the graphs are ok now, but there is still a problem with adding hosts to a group. Works fine from list mode, but not when I search for hosts first and then try to add all found hosts into a new group.
-
r1609 fixes this. Apparently it erased my changes originally. This should be fixed now.
-
With fog 1.0.0 r1614
May be a cosmetic issue. When i create a new group, the content of the field ‘groupCreateBy’ of the groups table is :
O:4:“User”:25:{s:24:“inactivitySessionTimeout”;i:1Thanks for all the job you provide
-
r1620 released.
Fixes funky crap on the display of progress bars. They are purely done from jquery now. No more need for tablerow on TaskManagmentPage.class.php. Awesome.

Mass deleting hosts? There is no simple way to delete a lot of hosts. Deleting one by one is very time consuming. In 0.32 I solved this by selecting hosts I wanted to delete in host list and then put them in a tmp group. I could then delete the tmp group. When deleting the tmp group I was asked if I wanted to delete hosts as well as the group. I cannot fint this possibility in 1.0.0. right? A most welcome feature I guess?
-
r1622 adds this minor feature.
It works in two steps, first it gives a checkbox to allow “deleting all the hosts”. If that checkbox is selected, it will print off the hosts in the group and ask if you want to delete the hosts. If you submit, it will delete all hosts as well as the group.
Hope this helps.

Check all of your AD settings under fog settings AND that host.
And after that, did you use FOGCrypt to set the AD password, if not:
