you can, if you want to be on “the bleeding” edge. Right now it’s the exact same as the release.

Ok. I like the bleeding edge! 🙂

I was just unsure if the “fog_0.33b” folder in subversion was going to change.

there was never a fog_0.33b folder. You create the name.
svn co https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk /opt/fog_0.33b
If you want the name changed you would just mv the folder to the new name.

or recheckout and change the folder name:
svn co https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk /opt/fog_1.0.0
just remember that if you use “bleeding edge” svn after this point, it may contain unstable code. tested code will be made available in numbered releases

Hello all,

I hope I am in the correct Forum for this question. I have been searching for a couple of days now.
I am sure I am doing something wrong. I am trying to add options to the iPXE Advanced menu.
I have read through http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fog-0-33b-edit-pxe-menu.10403/#post-26419 and tried the examples with no success. The following is what I am currently trying.

OS: Ubuntu 14.04
FOG: 1.0.0 r1678

PXE Boot Menu => Advanced Configuration Options:

Imenu ADVANCED MENU
Icolour --rgb 0xff0000 0
Icpair --foreground 0 3
Iitem --gap – -------------------------------------
Iitem konbootKon-Boot
COLOR=#ff0000goto ADV-MENU

Ichain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/iamges/kon-bootCD.iso

If I remove the section in red, it returns to the Main menu (boot.php).

If I browse to the advanced.php page I get the following.

http://${fog-ip}/fog/service/ipxe/advanced.php

I#!ipxe
Iconsole
Iset fog-ip 10.1.10.24
Iset fog-webroot fog
Icpair --foreground 7 --background 2 2
Iconsole --picture http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/bg.png --left 100 --right 80

Icolour --rgb 0xff0000 0
Icpair --foreground 0 3
Iitem --gap – -------------------------------------
Iitem konbootKon-Boot

Ichain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/iamges/kon-bootCD.iso

Here is a shot of the screen after I try to go to the Advanced Menu.

Junkhacker,
Thank you for the assist, but it did not resolve my issue. With your code, when I select Advanced Menu, the screen goes blank for about 2 seconds and then back to the main menu.

Just tried upgrading again, this time from 0.32 to 1.01. We Get an error on Database Schema Updater. Also when we try to list all hosts or all images returns a blank page. A search for a single host or image it returns data.

Thank you Junkhacker and Albatross.

I am now a step closer. I now get the Advanced Menu. When I select a menu item, it goes back to the Main menu.

I have not yet tinkered with this issue. I will see what I can figure out. I’m sure it’s a simple fix.

Thanks again for the help.

Blank page when listing all hosts or all images appears to be memory_limit in php.ini, raising it from Default 128M to 256M solved problem.

Solved that problem.

Changed
CODE:konboot
chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/kon-bootCD.iso||
goto ADV-MENU

to

:konboot
chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/kon-bootCD.iso ||
goto ADV-MENU
Now it tries to load the image. Choosing kon-boot goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor.

I added

chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/Avast-Slim.iso ||
goto ADV-MENU
When I choose Avast, it shows that it is loading the iso by percents. Once it gets to 100%, it goes back to Advanced Menu.

Still testing…

Changed
CODE:konboot
chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/kon-bootCD.iso||
goto ADV-MENU

to

:konboot
chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/kon-bootCD.iso ||
goto ADV-MENU
Now it tries to load the image. Choosing kon-boot goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor.

I added

chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/Avast-Slim.iso ||
goto ADV-MENU
When I choose Avast, it shows that it is loading the iso by percents. Once it gets to 100%, it goes back to Advanced Menu.

Still testing…
Try this:
code:konboot
initrd http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/images/kon-bootCD.iso
chain http://${fog-ip}/${fog-webroot}/service/ipxe/memdisk raw iso
You have to have a place to load the iso, so you need a “memdisk” to load the information to.
