reset encryption data
-
Hello,
I have a little problem on the web interface.
I have to regularly click on the “reset encryption data” button of some hosts and it seems that this action is not remembered.
What could be the problem?
Thanks for your help

@plegrand said in reset encryption data:
it seems that this action is not remembered
Can you explain what you mean by that?
The button is shown in the FOG web UI when a host hast the fog-client software installed and this has checked in on the FOG server. Clicking “Reset” removes the communication encryption key from the database and the fog-client will need to re-establish the encryption using a new key.

You should only reset encryption for a host when you’re having problems with it, generally.

When I click this button, if I leave FOG and go back to the same host, the button is displayed again.
But it seemed to me that once I had clicked on this button, it was not supposed to be displayed again for the same host -
@plegrand When the fog-client software is installed on the host the encryption key is being re-established (after deletion by “Reset” button) and this will make the button show up again. There should be no problem with the button showing up so don’t worry about it.

Not all buttons are supposed to be compulsively clicked.
