Requests for Wiki Access <--- ASK HERE
Yes this was a bit dated but has been corrected now.
My suggestion is to use an environment variable, i.e.:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“Fog Client” dir=in action=allow program=“%ProgramFiles(x86)%\FOG\FOGService.exe”
-
PS: the even better thing to do would be for the FOG Client to setup these rules upon install!

Typo on this page: "

As of FOG 0.28 this is no longer riquired.
" -
This page has, I believe, outdated information: “Enter the user name that has access to the computer objects. Include the name of your domain, i.e. mydomain\username”
I believe “mydomain” should be left out since the latest versions.
Thanks! Have more. On the FOGCrypt page I would like to point out that you can run FOGCrypt on Linux as well with:
mono ./FOGCrypt.exe
If it complains about mscorlib.dll, run it as:
MONO_PATH=/usr/lib/mono/4.5 mono ./FOGCrypt.exe

mono is not installed by default by fog I have entered this information but I have also shown that mono must be installed before hand.
And on the troubleshooting page: there is some formatting issue I think: the phrase “If the PXE boot does not work” is probably meant as an header, has nothing to do with the preceding issue.
It’s kind of obvious that I havent finished sprucing up this page yet. I stopped just before Users. See that there is no icons or cleaner formatting? Remember we use our spare time to put into FOG. I assure you that wiki edits occur daily.
Typo on this page: "

What is the typo here? Are you really going to rag on me b/c there is no comma? I didn’t even write this page.
This page has, I believe, outdated information: “Enter the user name that has access to the computer objects. Yes and no. 1.1.0 it is proper but in 1.2.0 and 1.3.0 is should just be username. I have just changed to.
" 7. Enter the user name that has access to the computer objects. You may need to include the name of your domain. (username OR mydomain/username)"

That will be done with the NEW CLIENT INSTALL that is in development as I type this.

As you saw per the directions of the wiki I asked for wiki access, so I could fix obvious issues. There maybe a policy of not granting access anymore, and instead of that you seem to get annoyed when I mention issues.
If you don’t want me to help improve the wiki, please say so directly, and I’ll stop immediately pointing out things.
The typo is the word " riquired." whould should be “required.”
-
AH thanks. Don’t know how I missed that.
I do not have wiki user management rights since I am the baby on the dev team. Usually a week or so the manager will read this and grant access.
-
Only community managers grant edit access to the wiki to new users, and one has not been around yet to approve your request. There is no policy to restrict access beyond that. Wolfbane8653 has taken it upon himself to maintain the wiki and has been working very hard to correct it’s issues, but there is a lot to do, due both to a it’s history of editors of and recent radical changes in the software.
Sooner or later we’ll see people trying to use FOG for imaging Mac OS X clients as well. AFAIK there is no wiki entry on how to get this working. Most of the information is provided on the web but it’s all over the place. I’d offer to write things up on how to run Apple computers with FOG if you think it’s worth the effort…
I’m going to be messing with this soon.
If I can get it working, I’ll write up a detailed WiKi page on it.
-
Uncle Frank, please check your PM.

Sounds good! We might just write things up as we get you going on this…How to best name this article?
EDIT: Just found this in the wiki: http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/FOG_on_a_MAC
Could be the starting point… -

Clearly a little interest in it.I think it’s a good name.

perhaps this should be moved to a new “fog on mac” thread, so we’re not cluttering up the “requests for wiki access” thread

As I can’t edit the main page, I recommend that the fifth paragraph to redirect to the forums instead gets redirected here.
Hi all,
If anyone has interest in putting this app in a docker container, I can help you do it. I don’t know if I have the time to create a wiki entry, but I can certainly give help.
Hi, I created a thread for a docker container. Have a look at http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/create-a-docker-container.12747/
