Hey guy I’m having issues with FOG Client after installing Reboot Restore RX. This is a software that allows to restore windows to its initial state kind off like a snapshot. So that means that when it restarts everything goes back to normal. This prevents students making changes. But since it restores everything the FOG client always loose its authentication with the server. Is there a way around this?

@tesparza This software ‘Reboot Restore RX’ you’re using does the same thing that Centurion Smart Shield and Faronics Deep Freeze does. (Put those in there for search engine purposes).

Try to freeze the machine after the FOG Client has successfully authenticated with the server.

@tesparza you’ll need to exclude the fog client’s installation directory from the snapshot. These types of software usually have a whitelist/exemption list I believe.

@joe-schmitt I have stumbled into the same problem with a different software that suppose to do the same. Where can I find this whitelist (where it’s located) and what’s the command to whitelist the client?

@tesparza Managed to fix it yet?

I opened a thread about it (with a little more progress than here) here:
          https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/15636/unable-to-boot-properly-after-radix-smartrecovery-installed

I contacted their support and they couldn’t get onto the problem.

@willingmost7 Unfortunately we abandoned the software. Is your a paid software, there should be an exemption so where with a paid version. Mine was freeware so that option was not available to me. What the main reason you need this software? Using guest account might help?

@tesparza Thanks a ton for your good will to help! Appreciate.

It’s a paid software. I need it to keep the students from destroying the computers.

I have found another thread talking about this RRRx software (which does the same so I don’t mind using it instead) and he fixed it by replacing the boot file, he used ipxe.kpxe instead of undionly.kkpxe.

And here is the proccess I made trying to figure out the problem: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/15636/unable-to-boot-properly-after-radix-smartrecovery-installed/2?_=1628169887941
