checking “Schedule Shutdown after task completion” causes the running task to hang

Moving a post from another thread about a bug to here. See below. @developers

@wayne-workman
Yes, checking “Schedule Shutdown after task completion” causes the running task to hang at the end (in both capture and deployment). I am going to take some pictures/videos and get back. -
Is this issue specific to a system or all systems?
-
@andreiv Hope you are still active in the forums and you see this.
-
I’m still lost as to what the bug is here. More detail is needed, is the “running task hanging” on the gui or hanging on the main system? Is this on all systems, or just this one particular model (or just this one system?)
What version of FOG?
What kernel version is in use?
I’m just trying to understand what’s actually going on here.
-
@tom-elliott A lot of the details are in the thread I forked the post from.
FOG version is 1.4.4If he does a multicast and checks the box “schedule shutdown after task completion” it causes the host to hang - so right when it’s supposed to shutdown it hangs.
-
@wayne-workman And how is this caused by fog? It seems, to me, to be something with the system. Though I’m not sure if shutdown has been working at all for any tasking, if it works for single tasking, it’s the same thing for multicast and seems, to me, to be related to the system model rather than something fog is doing or not doing.
Mind you, I’m not saying there isn’t a bug, but I need a LOT more information and me going from one post to another trying to divvy up the information is a bit extreme, and doesn’t help the casual user who may stumble upon this thread.

Also reading this particular post:
https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/11122/issues-with-fog-services/11#It really sounds like the task is just hung at the GUI side, not necessarily the Host machine itself is hung.
-
This is why I need information.
Is the problem on the GUI? Is it the task is stuck on the task page itself (meaning leaving and going back to the task page these tasks are still present, or are they all completed. Are the host machines stuck or not?)
I don’t know where the problem is. Does the problem happen if one does not select schedule shutdown? Task completion for multicast happens as a part of the service. If that’s not working, I can troubleshoot it, but I need the multicast log to see where it got “stuck”.

Nearly three weeks without any information.
I’m solving this to keep somewhat clean. If this is still an issue, with proper details, please open a new thread describing it.
