have image twelve machines with fog 1.5.0-rc-10 no issue.
now working on more machines cannot pull the pxe dhcp to the fog page for inventory.
not sure why.I would request that you open a new thread so we can help you identify your issue. Also in that new thread, please state what device is supplying your dhcp information to the pxe booting clients.

@tom-elliott
Sir,
not sure where to ask this question.
I ran into an issue trying to fog a new HP elitebook 850.
windows 10. connected to server inventory fine.
tried to capture image. then failed because HP has some kind of bit locker sector on drive. and the system could not copy it.
I think HP has this hard coded somewhere since this is a SSD drive.
any help would be appreciated. thanks,

@a12660 Create your own thread for this problem, and we will be happy to help.

Obviously the development of FOG stopped after a long time of hard work.
It would be friendly by the developers to inform the users about that.
-
@trialanderror what are you talking about?

It would be friendly by the developers to inform the users about that.I am not sure what exactly you mean. This is an open source project and we have no time schedule for new releases and we don’t have a set list of features to add or bugs to resolve. We simply do what we can and like.
It’s quite bizarre to state that FOG development stopped… totally wrong!
-
@trialanderror Incorrect.
The last RC was released in early November. November,December, and January are usually development wastelands for MOST Products, due to the large amounts of holidays, outside of work obligations, and then inside of work end of year stuff that needs to get done.
Developers here are working, as always, as they can with the time allowed. I’d expect some more news in the coming weeks, but that is nothing more than a gut feeling I personally have vs having anything to go on.
As this is a opensource project, if you’d like to see more development, you are more than welcome to jump in and try to fix open issues!

@bob-henderson (Pssst… I had a peek at some of the ui improvements. All I can say is, awesome!! )

This isn’t the first time people have thought FOG is dead. I think everyone understands that FOG is a volunteer project run by the generosity of many people.
But you can’t blame people for thinking that it’s dead when there is zero communication for over two months. And if the folks working on FOG are fine with the world thinking it’s dead, keep doing what you’re doing.

This is just not fair! Why would we still answer questions on the forums on a daily basis if this project would be dead?! Can’t believe you just said that. About the rest see Tom’s announcement…

FOG lives, evolves and we can all be grateful for this free, easy and reliable method of cloning. That has to be said. -
@sebastian-roth So, just be clear: you guys don’t have a communications problem; it’s just that the whole world isn’t listening to you? Is that what you’re saying?
-
@loosus456 what communication are you expecting? We answer questions and help address bugs when we can. When a new rc is to be released, we put it on the news site. I’m not saying something couldn’t be improved but I don’t know what it is you’re expecting.
-
@tom-elliott Where did I say I expect anything? What are you expecting? People not to think FOG is dead every few months?
-
Just went to the news page: https://news.fogproject.org/
The last update I see is from November 7, 2017. Are there supposed to be updates after that?
-
@loosus456 you are saying we aren’t communicating. What is it that you think will make it so people don’t think this? This is what I mean by you “expecting”. I have no expectations and simply reply to posts like this so people do know we aren’t “dead”. I don’t know what we can do to make people think we are still active.
-
@tom-elliott Honestly, if someone is new to FOG or isn’t new to FOG but only has a passing interest, what do you think they’re going to go off? They’re not going to think, “Wonder what Tom Elliot is up to?” and then go scour the forums for your posts. They don’t know you from Adam. They’re not going to your Github page. They’re not keeping tabs on how many moderators are answering technical questions.
-
@loosus456 no. Nothing new has been pushed out yet. We haven’t made an RC 11, and haven’t had anything to report on for the news. We are doing work within GitHub but we don’t push to public directly until we are fairly confident the current work is okay to be tested more publicly.
