@msaglioc99 OK so we now have a few more datapoints (not an agreed solution only data points) .
You are running firmware 1.4.4 and my system is running 1.5.2. There is no additional releases between the two versions.
Here is what is fixed in the 1.5.2 release
Fixes & Enhancements Fixes: Addressed a SMART event reporting issue when using NVMe SSD. Addressed a BIOS recovery issue when recovering from internal Hard Drive. Addressed discrete graphic configuration incorrect. Addressed no display with Intel Management remote control. Enhancements: Added the PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) option in BIOS menu. Updated Computrace BIOS persistence module. Updated processor microcode. Updated Intel graphic VBIOS to 9.0.1051 version Improve acoustic noise.
In other words nothing really that addresses this issue. I would still go ahead and update the firmware on the failing one to see if you can get it to register correctly.
As for the processor your system is running a Gen7 processor which means the Kaby Lake arch instead of what I’m running Sky Lake. Does this mean anything?? I don’t know at this point, only noting that its different.
Have you tried to place a dumb (unmanged) switch between your building switch and your 7050 computers on a consistent basis? Does this magically address your issues? There has to be something unique with either the 7050s or your networking infrastructure.

Updating the BIOS now.

@msaglioc99 I have two 7050s that I was having issues with (different issue), but I can confirm that they register and image ok. What version of FOG are you on?
-
Sorry I posted the wrong link to the BIOS Version but I did flash the BIOS on the system and upgrade to 1.5.2. Still did not resolve the issue.
-
@msaglioc99 What version of FOG are you on?
-
@themcv 1.5.0-RC-9 But I previously had issues with the version of fog before this. 1.4.4.
-
@msaglioc99 Are you doing them in UEFI or Legacy?
-
I am using LEGACY with Secure boot Disabled.
-
@msaglioc99 Weird, same.
Okay, let’s get in a bit closer. Do other machines on that same switch have any issues being inventoried by FOG?

No I am able to image and register other machines, and computer models. I only run into this issue with Dell Optiplex 7050’s.
-
What error does it give you specifically?
-
@msaglioc99 clear screen shots of the error are always helpful to set the context of the error.
-
The Error is different every time. I will try and generate a couple of different scenarios. I’ve seen about 3 different Errors. Sometimes the screen comes up and lets me do the registration process but when I get to the end to enter the FOG GUI password it starts to write the password in plan text and just glitches out. Give me sometime to post screenshots.
-
Anymore ideas?
-
@msaglioc99 Can you still get the screenshots? : )
-
As I said it is very random and I get a different error ever time only with the 7050’s though. I have on issues with other computer models. Here are some of the errors I am encountering.

It’s very strange… I can’t figure out why I’m only having issues with this model computer…
