Yes, I love Lenovos!!! (smell the sarcasm?)

Earlier today, we uploaded an image from one of these for the first time, things went smoothly. Can’t remember what SVN, it was the one from yesterday or day before.

We test deployed the image to another laptop, and the system won’t boot. It acted like it couldn’t even find an OS. The error looked like it came from BIOS.

So, I updated FOG again. Currently SVN 3365 and tried the download again. Now it won’t even image. I’m using undionly.kkpxe both for previous upload and previous download… I got this error after the update:

    IMG_20150506_135516.jpg

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

bzImage Version: 3.19.3 x86_x64 Worked for this model, at least for downloading an image…

We’ll see if it works or not.

The specific error is “Drive is inaccessible”. It’s a BIOS error, not Windows.

              So, windows repair fixed it…

I have no idea what happened…
              This will require more testing.

Kernel 4.0.2 works for these, with undionly.kkpxe.

I re-deployed this “busted” image to the golden machine, and it deployed just fine. Gonna run some updates on it and re-upload.

I’m chalking these errors up to different BIOS settings on the other machine we tried to deploy to (or broken inits at the time).

                  More on this laptop model.

Every single time I image this particular model, I am asked to approve it’s MAC address. Here is a screenshot of what I’m seeing.

                  duplicate macs.png

And here is a screen shot of the actual MACs on the laptop (both wired and wireless).

                  Actual MACs.png

The "Primary MAC is the wired MAC, I believe, and the pending MAC is the wireless MAC.

I am using the legacy client still.

                    Can you run an

                    ipconfig /all

to view MAC by cards ?

From scratch. Although we do install some proprietary software for WiFi made by Lenovo because these laptops have those funky WiFi switches on the side.

More on the “Pending MAC approvals” thing…

Just imaged a Lenovo L530 and same thing.

                            Using the legacy client.

It seems like FOG does this every single time you image a laptop (because one wired NIC and one wireless NIC).

It doesn’t matter how many times I approve the MAC addresses for laptops, every time I re-image them, it asks me to approve the MAC addresses again.

Same here on HP desktop DC5800 : Two ethernet cards.
