Web interface doesn't open after updating to 1.2
-
Hello,
Update from 0.32 to 1.2 seemed to go fine, the installer didn’t report any problems. After completing the update and rebooting the ubuntu server, the fog web interface does not load. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
-
Do you just get a blank page or do you get anything at all when you go to the ip address?
-
Page cannot be displayed, seems like a generic 404
-
Any chance you can post your install log? File is located:
cd /var/log/foginstall.log
-
Is this in chrome?
-
Same problem for all browsers. Here is the log file as requested

Here’s your problem:
Setting up and starting Apache Web Server…Failed! My guess, you installed lamp during installation of the OS?
-
OS was already installed and running 0.32, is there a command I can run to re-install apache?
-
Without the information on your OS and its version we can’t post the exact cmd to run.
-
The basic commands for uninstalling apache2 didn’t work so this is what I ended up on
sudo apt-get --purge remove apache2 apache2.2-common
sudo apt-get --purge remove apache2.2-common
sudo apt-get install apache2 apache2-mpm-prefork apache2.2-common libapache2-mod-php5 php5After doing that it was back to 0.32, so I ran the fog installer again and it worked without error, now on 1.2 with database and images intact! Hurray!
-
I believe I’m having the same issue as the OP (“Setting up and starting Apache Web Server…Failed!” however mine has “(2)” at the end). I was trying to use the same solution but I have CentOS 6 and “sudo yum --purge remove apache2 apache2.2-common” does not work. Sorry I’m a noob with Lunix.

Hope that helps!
Edit: FYI this will Uninstall apache2. You will then need to re-install apache2 using the fog install script.
-
Ok I uninstalled apache2 then ran the fog install script again. Failed at the same spot. Then I tried uninstalling apache2, php, MySQL, and HTTPD. Ran the fog installer again. Failed again in same spot.
Edit: Here’s the install log:
