LENOVO L13 : IPXE initialising Devices
-
hello
We have a fog server and a windows server for DHCP.
Everything has been working perfectly for 1 year.
We received Lenovo L13 PCs which do not have an Ethernet port. We need a usb-c ethernet adapter.
By booting in pxe, the PC does have an IP but it remains on ipxe initializing devices.I updated the kernel (6.6.49)
Fog is in 1.5.10FOG server, dhcp server and the computer are on the same network.
I tested with ipxe.efi, snp.efi, snponly.efi but the problem is still there.
I noticed the same problem with another PC model with an Ethernet/USB-C adapter.
For PCs with an internal Ethernet port no problem.
Do you have any ideas to give me?
Thanks in advance

Same thing here with this laptop. We’ve also tested the experimental kernel but same problem.
Thanks

@Ced58 We had the same issue with the L`3W and now we have L13 Gen5 that are doing the same thing. Were you ever able to get this resoled? The L13W we had to roll back the bios to a known working bios. The new ones are still not working. Thanks

@John-L-Clark Can you try updating to the latest dev-branch of FOG? This is mainly to update iPXE to the latest version.
After updating, please try the experimental releases of the kernel 6.12.25 and initrd 2025.02.0 -
@Ced58 I use this model. It’s best to get either the official Lenovo usb c ethernet adapter or the proprietary Lenovo adapter for the special ethernet port on these. Also in the bios there’s a Mac pass through option that you want to set to internal or second Mac address. With the latest version of fog and kernel it should see that internal mac even if you share an adapter for imaging multiple of that device.
