We are working towards a most stable release of the 1.5.x line of FOG and will publish release candidates of FOG 1.5.9 for this over the next weeks. We ask people to participate and help test to get the final release as good as we can.
Alrighty, so my work-arounds for this issue were to use a virtual drive of 28GB to make the original image, alternatively you can delete the 4th partition to make imaging completely compatible, but you lose the ability to do an OS reset in Windows.
If you move the partition to where it used to be in v1909, Windows can’t find it and that also loses the ability to reset, so if you have to move it, just delete it i guess…
another alternative if using clonezilla you can image and use gparted to first move the 4th partition to the end of the drive, then resize the 3rd partition, this seems to work fine without losing the option to reset, tested on 2 different machines, a Clevo Laptop and an HP All in One.
Otherwise typically just make sure the drive you are imaging to with FOG is generally larger than the source disk you imaged from and everything should be fine… generally speaking…
I’ve been using FOG for over a year on an isolated network, however, we’re now going to migrate it to our main network in a different VLAN. Since our old build had DHCP, I tried to install FOG on new hardware on Ubuntu, but after installing all of the packages, I get the message “Updating packages as needed” and it gets stuck there. I’ve tried a lot of fresh installs, and in some of them, it just randomly reboots, the fogproject user is created but I cannot access the management dashboard.
What I tried:
Older releases of FOG
Ubuntu 20, 18 and 16
Different hard drives
Does anyone have any idea of what can be causing the issue? Thank you!

Un dernière question, quand est-ce que la version 1.5.9RC2 sera t-elle stable ?
I don’t have an answer for that. The more people that test 1.5.9RC2 the more happy the developers are to move it to stable. Just don’t forget to go NOW and change the branch back to master so you don’t forget later and wonder why things are not working good.
