• RE: Instaltion and systems

FOG server has only been reported to be installed on a MAC but a tutorial has not been made. As far as imaging on MAC’s this has been accomplished. See wiki for more information. http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/FOG_on_a_MAC

We are not releasing VM’s with FOG server at this time. If you wish to have a FOG server VM, follow the wiki manual for installing FOG server. In your case you will just need to install it on a VM. Make sure you are using a bridged network connection in your VM settings.
I have a FOG server 1.2.0 latest SVN and kernel update of Linux image with Ubuntu 13.10. I have no way to create an image of a laptop Latitude D505 with XP installed.

When it runs the upload task, appears something similar like this:
Sounds like a permissions issue. Did you run the install as su (debian version of sudo)?
cd /bin
      su
      <enterpassword for superuser>
      ./install.sh
Just to chime in here. Since you didn’t read the upgrade information I have supplied the link here.
      http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_1.x.x

You really should read this as it pertains to changes needed to make the newer version of FOG to work correctly.
SVN 3138 released. With this release comes many more things. Specifically the Beta FOG Client is available now and is downloadable from the FOG GUI as normal. There are two links. One for Legacy and one for New. Hopefully this is self explanatory.
Both Clients are available still in the latest SVN. You will should not have to do anything using the old client at this point. If you wish to use the new client then you will need to change an option in Settings.

It is NOT suggested to have both clients in the same environment.

If this is where your install log stops you did not finish the install completely. Please re-install and follow the directions for the web schema update. Then finish the install script.

      Google Translate:
Si ce est là votre journal de l’installation se arrête, vous ne avez pas terminé complètement l’installation. Se il vous plaît ré-installer et suivez les instructions pour la mise à jour du schéma web. Puis terminer le script d’installation.

    • RE: Task expiration

Tasks that did not occur or failed to start will only usually remain in the Task management. These are fine to delete. However, you should investigate why these machines did not execute the tasks that you had given them.

The issues I’m talk about are canceling mid-task. If the auto-cancel option cancels during a multi-cast or uni-cast it may cause issues. However, if these particular tasks take that long(12hrs) then it is due to another factor or you are trying to do way too many machines at once.

      Joseph,

I would hit that like button so many times if it was so easy to accomplish this. I brought this up a few times but there is just a massive amount of work to do this and many issues that could crop-up due to this. I know this isn’t what you wanted to hear but I’ll keep poking possibly we can get this added.
