      I have found it, you cant see the advanced tasks from the task menu, but if you go into hosts, list all host, select the PC you want, then click Basic Tasks, then advanced, the options are all there. Thanks everyone. I just needed to ask the right question. @Wayne-Workman @george1421

      @trev-lchs it appears this was a one off and subsequent installs have not had this issue. So this one can be written off as solved. Seems the resize NTFS partition failed to work one time.

      First of all, sorry for resurrecting this old thread. However … I was experiencing this issue with HP machines with BIOS U62 Ver.01.01.21 07/01/2024.

      The only way I was able to workaround the issue is by using refind binaries from FOG 1.5.5 as @PeterL says in their answer:

      @PeterL said in REFInd-Initializing - hangs:

      Your issue with rEFInd is because of HPs EFI.
      I have exactly the same issue with ProDesk 400 for quite some time.
      The workaround to get those systems booting via rEFInd was a downgrade of the rEFInd binaries.

      For me a downgrade to rEFInd out of the FOG 1.5.5 package did the trick.

      FOG 1.5.5

      Path in the ZIP archive: fogproject-1.5.5.zip\fogproject-1.5.5\packages\web\service\ipxe\refind.efi

      The binary is dated 15.11.2018

      On a Debian system place the file in /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe
      Once as “refind.efi” and a second time as “refind_x64.efi”.

      But I’ve tried with latest rEFInd version from sourceforge as @george1421 points in their answer

      @george1421 said in REFInd-Initializing - hangs:

      @peterl FWIW the refind files can be located here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/refind/files/

      For a very log time FOG shipped with 0.11.0 version of refind. This was a very stable, but old release. Based on the image date you referenced that must be the 0.11.4 release of refind. You might also want to try 0.13.2 (newest at the time of writing). To see if the very latest version of refind works for you.

      but even this latest version isn’t able to boot the EFI partition from the internal disk. So weird, not sure how may I help to diagnose this issue for rEFInd project … but I’d like to help. Can’t find a way to increase verbosity for rEFInd despite I’ve tried some config directives in refind.conf

      Thank you for this helpful post guys 😛

      @Trev-lchs said in HP 250 G7 fails to upload image:

      This is now resolved, on checking it appears that the kernel downloaded was the ARM64 instead of 64.

      Interesting the ARM kernel gets as far as that on a HP 250 G7…

      I actually brought my laptop in from home, this I know is a uefi BIOS, on testing it, it booted into Fog with no issues ( it has been imaged in the past with FOG. So i then knew that UEFI boot was working. I have to hold my hands up on checking the HP 250 G7 it had not had secure boot switched off in the BIOS, this is a silly error and for this I blame my technician lol, (well i should have checked myself) on checking this morning i saw it was still on, I was lead down the FOG path after the kernel update failed. however i now have a different issue which i shall post.

      @george1421 Yep thanks for your help George, we have it pixie booting now, unfortunately, on checking it this morning the Tech had not switched secure boot off in the laptop bios. due to the other issue i had been having i thought it was FOG, FOG is blameless in this instance.

      @Sebastian-Roth the upper case is a mistake, oops sorry about that. Search is working now thanks all. it was the search box that was not displaying, so i could not type anything in, just clicking the search magnifying glass (expecting a search box to open), of course with no words to search it couldn’t find anything

      @Trev-lchs uploaded image with no issue, I love Fog. I have been using it since 2006 not an expect by any means and i have no knowledge of Linux, but the online info is great and makes it possible for a Windows man to make it work.
