Thanks Tom. It was firewalld. Someone should add that to the CentOS 7 wiki page. Other then that so far wiki installation page seems spot on for CentOS7.

    • Web Management Page

I know this is probably a simple fix and it’s just eluding me right now. I just finished installing fog 1.2.0 on my CentOS 7 server. I can access the management page from the fogserver itself. However, whenever I try to access it from any other computer it doesn’t load (Page cannot be displayed). Both ways via IP address. I can ping the fogserver and get replies. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Just tried reinstalling CentOS 6.6 and it gave the same error. I’m going to try CentOS 7 later today when I have more time.

Ok I uninstalled apache2 then ran the fog install script again. Failed at the same spot. Then I tried uninstalling apache2, php, MySQL, and HTTPD. Ran the fog installer again. Failed again in same spot.

      Edit: Here’s the install log:

FOG now has everything it needs to setup your server, but please
understand that this script will overwrite any setting you may
have setup for services like DHCP, apache, pxe, tftp, and NFS.

It is not recommended that you install this on a production system
as this script modifies many of your system settings.

This script should be run by the root user on Redhat or with sudo on Ubuntu.

** Notice ** Redhat users will need to disable SELinux and iptables in
      order to use FOG
Please see our wiki for more information at [URL=‘http://www.fogproject.org/wiki’][U][COLOR=#1155cc]http://www.fogproject.org/wiki[/COLOR][/U][/URL]

Here are the settings FOG will use:
      Base Linux: Redhat
      Detected Linux Distribution: CentOS
      Installation Type: Normal Server
      Server IP Address: 10.1.0.109
      DHCP router Address: 10.1.0.1
      DHCP DNS Address: 10.1.0.99
      Interface: eth0
      Using FOG DHCP: 0
      Internationalization: 0
      Donate: 0

DHCP will NOT be setup but you must setup your
current DHCP server to use FOG for PXE services.

On a Linux DHCP server you must set:
               next-server

On a Windows DHCP server you must set:
               option 066 & 067

Option 066 is the IP of the FOG Server: (e.g. 10.1.0.109)
             Option 067 is the undionly.kpxe file: (e.g. undionly.kpxe)

I believe I’m having the same issue as the OP (“Setting up and starting Apache Web Server…Failed!” however mine has “(2)” at the end). I was trying to use the same solution but I have CentOS 6 and “sudo yum --purge remove apache2 apache2.2-common” does not work. Sorry I’m a noob with Lunix.

However that’s the official name. That’s like saying since Vista(Windows version #6 and Japanese FF2) sucked it’s not really Windows 6 and windows 7 (Windows version #6.1 and FF4) is actually 6. The FF distributor that localized FF3 and FF4 to the US originally were retarded and messed things up. Which is why when they were released on the DS and PSP the names were corrected.

I would try adding this to the “Snapin Run With”[CODE]%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\cscript.exe[/CODE]

This works better then “C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe” incase the systemroot is something other than C:\ and if I recall right this runs the cscript in 32-bit mode and will execute on both 64-bit and 32-bit systems properly.

      Stolen from Tom’s post:

      Yes, but not real easily.
The way to do it is described below: (root access on FOG Server, use terminal or console.)

      [CODE]Code:
      cd /tftpboot/fog/images
      mkdir tmp
      gunzip -d -c init.gz > init
      mount -o loop init tmp
sed -i ‘s/PIGZ_COMP=“-3”;/PIGZ_COMP=“-0”;/’ tmp/bin/fog #THE -0 change to what you want. -0 is worst compression, -9 is best compression.
      umount tmp
      mv init.gz init.gz.orig
      gzip -9 init
      rm -rf tmp

I have another quick question unrelated and I haven’t searched the forums for an answer but is there a tutorial or how to on compressing the image file size, I only allowed for 200GB and with 2 images I am at 54GB used…[/quote]

Go to FOG Configuration > FOG Settings > FOG Boot Settings > Move the slider for FOG_PIGZ_COMP

The lower you move it the less compression. I would think you would want to set it to 9. This will effect your upload speed but as far as I understand download should remain the same.

You can download any version of FOG. When you get to the following step in the installation you can change the version number to whatever you want. Go to: [url]https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/tags[/url] to see all the available versions.

      [CODE]cd ~

That seems odd. I would try the following code then try to upload again. However a temp workaround would be moving the files from the MAC address folder (/images/dev/{MAC address}) to a folder named the same as the image name(/images/{image name}).
