@Torgeir Why does it say hirens151.iso
in one of the pictures? That ISO is definitely not part of FOG and you need to take care of putting the ISO where you want to have it. Did you modify the FOG boot menu to add the ISO?

RE: Error trying to restore GPT partition tables (restorePartition TablesAndBootLoaders)
@kevinnew22 said in Error trying to restore GPT partition tables (restorePartition TablesAndBootLoaders):
Is this dev-branch version inferior to the one I have? to solve this problem I have in the images which do you recommend? t
Yes it is! As George said, updating to dev-branch will fix the issue you see most certainly. What George was saying about going back to an official release (a.k.a the master branch) can be done easily using git - see the commands he posted. But I wanted to add that you shouldn’t do this while 1.5.9 is still the latest official release because that would be a downgrade and could cause problems. As soon as 1.5.10 will be released you can switch to master because that’s going to be a step forward then.

RE: Features questions: Fog with distributed architecture
As Wayne already said, FOG is made for imaging - not installing. You may be able to do this via a custom menu entry in FOG trunk but there are a lot of other projects focusing on just that, like FAI…

RE: Debian 10 libcurl3 install problem, solved?
@JGwinner Debian 10 was only released a couple of days ago and we had to fix some things in the installer. This is in the so called
dev-branch
and not an official FOG release yet. You can install on Debian 10 like this:sudo su - git clone https://github.com/FOGProject/fogproject/ cd fogproject git checkout dev-branch cd bin ./installfog.sh
Hint: As mentioned in the other topic (you probably did not see this?!) you shall not run the installer in a sudo environment but a proper root shell! (reference)

RE: Unable to Install FOG Client
@pamadmax Which version of the fog-client do you use?
Try using this installer to hopefully fix the issue: https://github.com/FOGProject/fog-client/releases/download/0.12.0/FOGService_fixed-tls.msi
This has been discussed in the forums before…

RE: Scheduled cron tasks don't start
@raymondub Here is how you usually to upgrades: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Upgrade_to_trunk (I prefer using git over svn but they both work!)
I red that with the svn, it was possible to backup/restore only a partition and it was what i needed.
Have you ever tried doing just one partition? If I remember correctly we just fixed a major bug with single partition restore!

RE: Automate FOG Installation?
@TBuzaTechnician By the way, we use this so called auto answer mode of the installer too. Thanks to @Wayne-Workman we have an automated installer test running: http://fogtesting.theworkmans.us/

RE: failed to import module
@kalafina The fog-client is a 32 bit application as far as I know. So you might get around by installing the 32-bit Dell Command | PowerShell Provider v2.7.0 found here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000177240/dell-command-powershell-provider?lwp=rt

RE: Scheduled cron tasks don't start
@raymondub Tom was asking you to update to the very latest version via git or svn: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Upgrade_to_trunk
You don’t need to worry about FOG 1.2.0 at all anymore. Just go straight to trunk via git/svn.
Please check the install error log in the same directory where you run the installer from, so
fogproject/bin/error_log/...
and let us know what exactly goes wrong… -

RE: Windows Keys Management Plugin
@AlexPDX said in Windows Keys Management Plugin:
Is there a way to “Link bidirectionally” the information in the Host and Windows Keys Management Plugin ?
Im interested to make a link between :
Windows Key Plugin <->HostI am not sure this is what this plugin was intended to be used for. From the plugin description: “Windows keys is a plugin that associates product keys for Microsoft Windows to images. Those images should be activated with the associated key.”
But if I understand your post correctly you should not need to use the mentioned Windows Key plugin at all. Each Host object in the database has it’s own field for the Windows Product key (as seen in the web UI host settings page). This is stored in the same DB table and therefore directly connected: host <-> key
…i don’t know if it’s a bug or it’s just me…but sometimes , after i add the “Host Product Key” and click “Update” …then add something in the “Host Description” and click “Update” again …the information in the “Host Product Key” just vanishes
This is definitely not ok! We need to look into why this is happening.
- Uninstall the Windows Key plugin because I am sure this is not gonna help in your case as stated above. The plugin code is being less well looked at and so chances are higher this has a bug and could even cause trouble.
- Talk to your folks using the FOG web UI (everyone!) to see if others might be seeing the same issue when saving host information and as well if possibly people edit the same host object and overwrite each others settings.
- Take a look at the apache error log (see my signature) and post errors found there in this forum topic.
- Try to replicate the “lost settings” issue so we get some more grip on how to fix this - I have done some testing and it’s not happening for me.

What does show up?? Please post a picture here in the forums! Why did blessing not work? Any error message while running the
bless
command? (Just asking because that’s the easiest way from my point of view). Don’t worry, I am pretty sure we can make this run. I played a lot with Macs back at my old working place… -

how can I install MacOs FOG client?
We have FOG client support Mac OS X since about two or three weeks, still pretty new. You’ll be one of the first ones to try. Follow this: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=FOG_Client#Installing_-_OSX
how to boot on hard disk from pxe ? I have an error message: chainloading failed.
See Wayne’s answer in this post…

RE: shell script to sync folder to storage node.
@george1421 I have started to think about getting rid of FTP and NFS altogether because both are very old, rubbish protocols that cause head aces as soon as you leave the local subnet. But it’s a long way to get there and I don’t see this happen soon.

RE: Host ID was not set, or unable to be created
@Zaarin AFAIK this should be fixed in version 7430 already. Kind of strange. Is this Ubuntu 16.04? Fresh install?

@Sebastian-Roth i’m certain there are changes in the way partitions are handled in the init that would be helpful too
Yeah!! Ultimately you definitely want to go for FOG trunk to have proper Mac support! Quite a few things we changed. Back at my old working place they probably still use FOG 1.2.0 (well a patched version of it) to image Macs. So it’s definitely doable. But installing FOG trunk might be a lot less work compared to fixing 1.2.0 to image Mac clients…
