@Wayne-Workman Done, I renamed a computer and disjoined AD, after that AD integration is good but not the name…

RE: Printer doesn't appearposted in Bug Reports
@Joe-Schmitt Oh I didn’t notice the “-”… Try with IP adress, it’s ok for installing new client.
But bad news, after 5 minutes I’ve got this :
EDIT : checking on other classroom, on 2 computers, this time printer appears… but 4 times !

RE: Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
@Tom-Elliott ok, I understood how works ComputerName in sysprep, but I wonder if it’s a good or bad idea to have it in syprep with fog deployment…
Same thing for early hostname changer, do I have to check it (uncheck for me) ?2 hours later I have 3 more PC with right name in AD, but still 14 with random name…

RE: Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
@Matthieu-Jacquart So it’s not ok

I deployed 20 computers this morning, windows 10, removed from AD before deployment.
Result : AD integration for all of them, but only 3 were able to have the right name.
For the 17 others, random name. For example computer name “BOIS-64RNM4FT88” in AD :

There’s line <ComputerName>*</ComputerName> in sysprep, is it really necessary ?

@Joe-Schmitt Hi,

[Git 8149] some groups are empty and modifications are not appliedposted in Bug Reports
Hi,
I just see in Git 8149 that 2 of my groups are empty. I try to populate them by adding hosts, it seems working but if I add a printer to the group it didn’t appear on client and after modifications group is empty again…
Thanks

MatthieuEDIT : in fact even on a single computer, I can’t add printer. I check the box for one printer and after update there’s no printer in list…

RE: Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
It seems ok for me too (tested on one computer) with fogservice disabled before sysprep
-
RE: 7981 to 8120 - stuck on "Database Schema Installer / Updater"posted in Bug Reports
I had same problem but after completing config.class.php everything works fine.

RE: Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
@JoeG Hi, I disabled fogservice before sysprep and create cmd in c:\windows\setup\scripts, it works for activating fogservice but hostanme changer still having problem… I’ll try to do more test today and I come back with fog.log
Important question : I use <ComputerName>*</ComputerName> in Sysprep, is it a good thing to do or it’s better to remove it ?
Same for fog options “FOG_CHANGE_HOSTNAME_EARLY”, it’s uncheck, is it ok ? -
RE: Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
I confirm, if I delete host from AD before deployment it seems ok, but if I forgot it’s impossible to rename computer.
It worked few weeks ago. -
RE: Unable to register hostsposted in FOG Problems
@Sebastian-Roth So, tested the Four arguments in Host Kernel arguments, tested on 2 laptop :
- noapic
- pci=routeirq
- pci=noacpi
- acpi=off
And each time, same error, as if there was no argument… depressed !
EDIT : ok it works ! For testing I always selected in fog menu “client system information” (because my image is not ready to deploy so I didn’t test quick image or task deployment) and it gave me the same error. BUT if I test to deploy an image (never mind for non ready image…), everything seems fine ! We can close this topic, I confirm that Dell Latitude 3350 work with pci=noacpi host kernel argument
-
RE: Unable to register hostsposted in FOG Problems
@Sebastian-Roth Hi, So I have imported my 40 hosts with csv file after looking for mac adress on each bios, but indeed even with pci=noacpi in host kernel arguments there no difference.
I’ll try other arguments on monday ! Have a nice weekzend
-
RE: Unable to register hostsposted in FOG Problems
@Sebastian-Roth I’ve just read the topic, it’s a semi good news because… We have to entered manually our 40 hosts into fog interface before putting kernel parameter to the host ??? what a mess.
But once it’s done, we will be tranquilEDIT : bad news, it seems not working…
If I put pci=noacpi in Host Kernel Arguments, no change, same error message.
If I put pci=noacpi in Host Kernel, I’ve got this error :

I use undionly.kpxe

RE: Unable to register hostsposted in FOG Problems
@Sebastian-Roth ARgh, I began to search before opening thread but didn’t find this one…
Thanks Seb, I’ll try it tomorrow ! -
Hostname changer is unable to rename computerposted in Bug Reports
Hi,
I don’t know if it’s related to Win10 (I didn’t deloy Win7 machine since few weeks) or fog server or the client, but each time I deploy a computer, it reboots a lot of time (indefinitely…), once to integrate domain, once to quit the domain, but it’s unable to rename computer, it just integrates AD…
For example, its name as to be “s176prof”
