• RE: Bugs in FOG 0.33
Issues I’m aware of:
[]“Single Partition” (NTFS Resizable) needs love - most uploads work, some deploys do not Agree
      [
]Multi Partition works - please tell if im wrong
[]FOG Configuration (previosuly known as ‘Other Information’) pages do not exist - they have not been created
      [
]Various “save” operations in Group Management and other areas do not save

Yes for all of them, on a side note I Imported my host list from my Production Fog machine 0.32 and that worked fine.

I was however unable to do a Full Inventory report error below, this is a highly regarded feature by my team as we use it to track assets
Unable to load system configuration information.
keep up the good work, thanks

    • Add Image size in Image Management

add an Image Size section next to the Images within the Image Management page

just so we can see the actual file size of the images

    • RE: Bugs in FOG 0.33

FOG trunk 875 (Ubuntu 12.04 Server)

windows 7 ie9/firefox as can be seen below the IMAGE NAME and actual image name overlap

also just uploaded a Windows 7 Image (normal install with 100mb) with the above settings ( OS: Windows 7 || Image Type: Single Partition (resizable)) The image uploaded successfully (right size on server) and the original machine restored mbr and restarted fine.

when deploying the uploaded image to a pc it only deploys the 100mb partition says its complete and restarts

    • RE: Support for multiple nics / subnets

Yes I have one FOG Server, serving both subnets. I am using vlans with cisco switching, enabled distributed multicast routing on the switches.

what network gear are you using? do you use vlans? can both subnets see the fog menu? what happens if they can?

      check http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/wiki-troubleshooting-multicast.22/

    • RE: Support for multiple nics / subnets
A way to setup fog with the IP addresses of all the nics.

Maybe add an extra layer / check to see which subnet the client is from and amend fog’s IP to the correct subnet accordingly. This would make this immensely more efficient.

As it stands a fog server has to be built for each and every subnet.

If there’s a way to hack around this I’m all ears :)
I have FOG deployed in my school and use multiple vlans/subnets, I have FOG box in Staff Vlan and both Student and STaff can be imaged/multicast too

when restoring after a ‘disaster’ do you build Ubuntu, Install FOG, then import the dump? does the server have to have the same IP etc

There has been some updates recently in the svn.
Hopefully when the time is right for the devs we will see an RC or beta for the ever growing community to test and feedback to nail any bugs 🙂

    • Is there any way to pxe boot from the lan when i cannot enable it from bios

I have recently started a new job, and I am now looking to image the Dell Laptops we have LATITUDE | 2100 (30ish)
though they have a bios password and the school does not know it. So i am unable to allow the option of Network Booting from F12. I have spoke to Dell who have provided a few passwords but do not work either.

Is there any way to pxe boot from the lan when in a situation like this?

      thanks
I recently made my own Kernel as a proof of concept. Its based of the Linux 3.3 Kernel and it resolved a lot of problems for me. Its attached in my post here. Be sure to backup any of your existing Kernels in /tftpboot/fog/kernel/

Let me know if it works for you.

I was going to build 3.3 kernel tomorrow, thanks for posting

    • RE: Mysql and clearos

In Ubuntu after installing FOG you need to edit /var/www/fog/commons/config.php + /opt/fog/service/etc/config.php with the servers mysql password im guessing this is similar for ClearOS/fedora installs. Have you checked the FOG Wiki?
