Don’t try to mount it on your FOG server (it won’t work), just configure the Storage Node page with the relevant info of the NAS itself. (ip, FTP username and password, images location) and it should work fine.
@datastream Ok, thanks for the update. Unfortunately this sounds like there is nothing we can do for you. Marking this solved for now as the root cause is identified and it’s not FOG.
@george1421 At the end a window does pop up that says installation successful and it has an ok button that I have to click.
Well that is / was it. If the application never quits then FOG (as well as other deployment tools like PDQ Deploy) rely on the installer exiting with a success code to consider the application installed. The -silent or -quiet (or any other number of switches which means a silent install) are typically required for this to be a success.
@Quazz I am using the Ubuntu VM as my FOG server. I don’t want to use the whole server with ESXi for storage also, just for the server portion. That is why the old Xserve is getting Ubuntu installed and set up as the NAS. I can then use it as a storage node as well as storage for files for things like computer backup and storage for files from our art department. Since the Xserve is just going to be a NAS the IPXE thing shouldn’t matter.
