    • RE: Invalid Storage Group

I know this is kind of old, but I had this same issue yesterday. I fixed it by running the installer and upgrading.

I think it would have been fixed by simply re-running the installer if I didn’t have to upgrade. I was only one version behind. I’ve notice most issues with Fog can be fixed this way.

@jflippen Thanks. I will give that a try and let you know. I really appreciate the responses.

    • RE: Windows Users Passwords

These are Windows 7 machines. Is there a command I can push out that would turn off the required password changes?

    • RE: Windows Users Passwords

They aren’t in a domain. I just installed windows, ran updates, and created an image. I imaged these machines and installed programs. They end up saying that the passwords have expired and need changed.

    • Windows Users Passwords

I am having issues with my Windows machines giving a warning that the user passwords need changed because they have expired. I never set this up on the machine before imaging so I think it has to be a setting in FOG. Is there a way to change this so that the user passwords never expire?

    • RE: .fogsettings for additional storage node

I was just looking and that shared drive unmounted and is now failing to mount. I am going to figure that piece out. I also have the IP address of the NAS in the configuration. Since it is going to be mounted on my FOG server I am going to change the IP to the FOG IP and see what happens. I also turned tftp and ftp on on the NAS. NFS was already on.

    • RE: .fogsettings for additional storage node

I am using FreeNAS. I had used this to set it up.

    • .fogsettings for additional storage node

I am trying to save an image onto a separate storage node I have added. I have set up a NAS. It is mounting on my original FOG server. I get the same permission issue as in this thread:

      https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/9823/mounting-images-dev-on-images-failed-permissions-denied

I looked at the .fogsettings file and the NAS location is not listed. Is there a way to add this into the file? I want this storage to be in there with the original that is in there because I have images on it and want to use it still.

    • RE: Snapin Killing Network

@sebastian-roth I am saying this is a network card driver issue. That model of laptop wasn’t meant to have Windows 7 on it and that is what the company who refurbed them put on them. So, I can’t get any updated drivers. The network drop also happens at random times on the ethernet. Wireless seems to work fine. I have no issues with the same snapins installing on other models of machines.

    • RE: Snapin Killing Network

I’m going to test it a little more. It seems to be doing it with all snapins and just to a specific laptop. I am beginning to wonder if it is a driver issue.

    • Snapin Killing Network

It seems like every time I install a snapin on a specific computer it kills the network. When I run the network diagnostic it shows that it fixes the issue and that the problem was that it could not connect to the gateway.

I have no problem running this and then installing the next snapin, but now I am installing Microsoft Office. The connection dies, then office finishes installing, gives the message that it is done installing, but the server is still running the task. It then reloads the package on the laptop and seems to never finish again. Is this a known issue or is there a setting I need to change?

    • Clamwin

Has anyone installed Clamwin on a Windows computer? I am having issues. It was showing up in the tmp folder but now it won’t even do that. I am using the arguments /sp- /silent /norestart like it says at this link:

I think I got it. I needed to follow the instructions on this page and put --silent in the command.

@george1421 At the end a window does pop up that says installation successful and it has an ok button that I have to click.

    • RE: Active task still showing even when complete

Still having issues with this. I have just imaged a machine. The snapins for the group are illustrator and photoshop. The computer is still hung on illustrator and won’t move on to photoshop. I have opened illustrator just fine so I no it is complete.

    • RE: Windows / Office Licencing

@george1421 So I just logged in and opened word. After it opens it has the window that says first things first and you choose how it will install updates. You have to be an admin to set that. After that the window pops that asks “How do you want to activate your software?”

After you click through those it is ready to go. Is there a way to automate that so it is done already? It’s not a big deal. I can login to each machine and click through those, but if it can be done I would set it up.

Direct access. I will still have to go in and set the update preferences as admin.

    • RE: Windows / Office Licencing

I ended up getting it by putting the following in a powershell script:

      cscript “c:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs” /inpkey:[License Key]
      cscript “c:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs” /act

After it installed and ran this, I just had to log in as admin, open word, click to activate, set up update preferences and I was done.

    • RE: Windows / Office Licencing

@george1421 I have also followed the path in the first line and the path is empty. According to the command shouldn’t ospprearm.exe be in that folder?

    • RE: Windows / Office Licencing

@george1421 If I run this script as a snapin but change the second line to include a MAK instead of a KMS and then take out the third line, would that work for me?
