RE: FOG 0.32 and Windows 8 Image Upload Problems
This doesn’t initially appear to be a Windows 8 issue, but rather an NFS mounting issue. Do you have any other machines that are able to upload to FOG (Windows XP, Windows 7, etc)?
I’m thinking that maybe your FOG kernel doesn’t have the proper drivers for the newer hardware and can’t access the network, hence the nfs error.

RE: VM Client can't PXE boot
Is your VM configured for a bridged network adapter or NAT’ed?

RE: Fog 33?
Start a new support thread under Windows or FOG Forum and I’ll be glad to help. Just know what FOG 0.32 does work with Windows 8 as long as the disk is MBR and the computer can be put into legacy BIOS mode. If you are U/EFI and/or GPT, FOG will have issues. Also, you need to disable secure boot.

RE: VM Client can't PXE boot
Are the FOG server and the VM on the same subnet?

RE: Can't have a partition outside of disk error
Please start a new thread and link back to this one if it’s related. Based on your thread, I don’t know if you are having issues or just adding items to the wish-list.

RE: [SOLVED] PXE-E51 "No DHCP or DHCP Proxy Offers received"
It won’t “break” anything else on the network, but it does leave you open to creating a loop and bringing the network down. Generally, you turn on port-fast, or set the ports to “edge” if you know they will also connect to an end point and not another switch.

RE: Fogprep.exe deleting Deep Freeze thaw space
Windows 7 and FOG 0.32 does not require FOGPrep, as Jaymes said. Also, the Deep Freeze documentation states you need to tell Deep Freeze that it’s in “clone” mode before you clone. “Set Clone Flag” is one of the options on the last tab I think, on the client, where you freeze/unfreeze.

RE: Moving Fog Server
Have you searched the forums yet? I believe there are several well written posts about exporting the database and backing up the images so you can move them to a new server.

RE: Continually having to delete boot files in /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg
I think this has been answered or is in the process of being answer in another forum/post @ http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/no-job-found-for-mac-address.3969/
If so, please do not cross-post, it splits/duplicates the efforts of those forum users that are willing to help.

RE: Host Specific Kernel
any task called form the pxe boot menu will use the default bzImage. Only jobs scheduled from the WebUI will use the kernel you specify for the host.
What this means is that if you can’t get the default kernel to run to register the hosts, you’re in a bit of a pickle. You either have to manually register the hosts, or find/compile a kernel that works.

RE: Ubuntu 11.10 no longer supported
If you upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, there is a small problem with the tftpd-hpa service being started before the network interface has an IP address bound to it. There are many posts on these forums and the internet about how to modify the start-up script to delay the start of the tftpd-hpa service.
-
RE: FOG HELP PLEASE HELP
If you are running Ubuntu 12.04 and have rebooted your service machine since installing FOG (tftpd-hpa in particular), then the tftp service may not have started properly. Restart the tftpd-hpa service and see if that helps with your issue. Search the forums for problems with tftp and ubuntu 12.04 and you should find all the info you need.

RE: Re-Numbering Image files
I have an in depth guide to doing this including all the mysql commands you’ll need to run. It’s in these forums if you search for it. “renumber” or “reorder” are probably good keywords to search on.

RE: No Kernels listed under > Other information > Kernel Updates
Thanks. Give us an update when you’ve determined if this is a proxy/content filter issue or not.

RE: Re-naming hosts
The FOG client and service will rename and join computers to the domain if you have the following:
[]Client registered with FOG and given a name
[]Fog Client installed on the client machine/image.
[]FOG server running on the client machine
[]HostNameChanger enabled on the client through the ini file or settings when you installed the FOG client software
[]HostNameChanger enabled globally on the server settings: FOG Configuration -> Hostname Changer -> enabled
[]HostNameChanger enabled for the host in the host record’s service settings.
And Optionally:

You have FOGCrypted a password for a user account that can join computers to the domain and you have put this info in the FOG Settings.
-
RE: Kernel Select menu is blank
See my reply to your post in the other thread on this very same subject. And please don’t post the same question to multiple threads or forums.

RE: No Kernels listed under > Other information > Kernel Updates
If you go through a proxy or content filter, make sure you have authenticated through it and try again.

RE: Upload task fails
You’ll have to figure out the Wake-On-LAN issues. You have to have a compute capable of doing it. Not all are. Check the bios for enabling wake-on-lan. Even then, wake-on-lan only works if you do a soft shutdown of the computer. If you hold the power button down or unplug the power, most systems will not wake.
